Trans People Confront Myths They Hear About Themselves Head On

Transgender identity can be hard to understand. In a way, it’s supposed to be since “trans” means so many different things to different people.

In “I’m Trans, But I’m Not…” a group of transgender people confront myths about what it’s like to be transgender head on in order to dispel mainstream misconceptions about their lives. From “I’m trans but I’m not damaged” to “I’m trans but I’m not tricking men into having sex with me — I don’t need to,” their statements are honest, poignant and reveal quite a bit about the daily lives of the transgender community.

One powerful point that everyone should keep in mind?

“I’m trans, and I’m worthy of love.”
