The GLAAD Wrap: ‘Queer Eye’ trailer, ‘Euphoria’ renewed, ‘AHS: 1984’ cast and more!
Every week, The GLAAD Wrap brings you LGBTQ-related entertainment news highlights, fresh stuff to watch out for, and fun diversions to help you kick off the weekend.
1) Sneak peeks have been released for upcoming movie Hustlers, which follows a group of dancers who con Wall Street clients out of their money. The cast, which includes Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B, Constance Wu, Lizzo, and Trace Lysette, all released character teasers. Watch Lysette’s below as her character Tracey! Hustlers will be in theaters September 13 and the full trailer will be out next week. In other film news, out actress Holland Taylor has been cast to play “The Great Leader” in the upcoming Bill and Ted Face the Music.

2) Netflix released the trailer for season four of GLAAD Media Award recipient Queer Eye. The fourth season continues to follow the Fab Five in Kansas City, and includes a visit to Jonathan Van Ness’ school. The season will air on July 19. Watch the trailer below.
3) The cast has been anounced for the ninth season of American Horror Story, dubbed AHS:1984. The new ’80s set season will feature LGBTQ actors Gus Kenworthy, Cody Fern, and Pose‘s Angelica Ross. Watch the teasers for the new season below!
4) Stranger Things 3 breakout star Maya Hawke gives life to the series’ first canon LGBTQ character. Robin comes out during the seventh episode in an intimate scene with fan-favorite character Steve (Joe Keery), who is quick to accept her. Watch the trailer for season three below.
5) HBO’s Euphoria has been renewed for a second season. The teen drama, currently airing season one, features a romance between main character Rue (Zendaya) and her best friend Jules (Hunter Schafer), who is trans. In other TV news, Netflix’s dystopian teen drama The Society has also been renewed for a second season. The show includes multiple queer characters including Sam, a gay deaf man.
6) HBO released a trailer for the upcoming A Black Lady Sketch Show, a comedy show produced, written by, and starring black women. The trailer teased several high profile guests including Lena Waithe and Laverne Cox. Hulu released a trailer for the second season of horror show Light as a Feather, which includes lesbian character Alex. Watch the trailer below.
7) “It’s Strange” and “Promise” singer K.Flay‘s new album Solutions is out today. Her third studio album will also feature a track with Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds. K. Flay will showcase the album live during a North American tour this fall. Listen to the Tommy English-produced single ‘Bad Vibes’ below.
8) Out lesbian duo Tegan and Sara have announced their new album and its release date; Hey, I’m Just Like You is expected to drop on September 27. The album is inspired by songs Tegan and Sara recorded as teenagers on cassette tapes 20 years ago. The tapes were only recently rediscovered while the duo was writing their memoir, High School.
