A homophobic street preacher was offering a public sermon about how LGBTQ people are going to burn in hell this week in New York City’s Union Square when the day was saved by Augie Bello and Julian Roel, a couple of young saxophonists at The New School for Jazz, one of whom knows how to toot while riding on a Swagtron electric scooter.
The intervention was captured on film by videographer Nicolas Heller. Augie Bello, the scooter-riding lad, wrote on Instagram: “Today @roel.julian and I were hanging and we stumbled upon some homophobic guy with a mic so we played over him. Laura Ingraham, Sean Duffy Attempt Sick Smear of Impeachment Inquiry Witness and Decorated War Vet Alexander Vindman Ahead of Testimony: WATCH
Alexander Vindman, a decorated Iraq war veteran, who was on Donald Trump’s call in which he pressured the Ukrainian president to investigate his political rival Joe Biden, is testifying before the House impeachment inquiry today.
The NYT reports: ‘Lt. Col. Alexander S. Vindman of the Army, the top Ukraine expert on the National Security Council, twice registered internal objections about how Mr. Trump and his inner circle were treating Ukraine, out of what he called a “sense of duty,” he plans to tell the inquiry, according to a draft of his opening statement obtained by The New York Times.’
Wrote Vindman in his opening statement: “I did not think it was proper to demand that a foreign government investigate a U.S. citizen, and I was worried about the implications for the U.S. government’s support of Ukraine. I realized that if Ukraine pursued an investigation into the Bidens and Burisma it would likely be interpreted as a partisan play which would undoubtedly result in Ukraine losing the bipartisan support it has thus far maintained.”
Monday night, ahead of his testimony, FOX News’ Laura Ingraham and CNN’s recently hired commentator Sean Duffy attempted to smear Vindman.
Ingraham suggested that the decorated Iraq war veteran is a Ukrainian double agent, and John Yoo threw out the word “espionage.”
Said Ingraham: “Here we have a U.S. national security official, who is advising Ukraine while working inside the White House apparently against the president’s interest and usually, they spoke in English. Isn’t that kind of an interesting angle on this story?”
Added Yoo: “I find that astounding. Some people might call that espionage.”

New CNN hire Sean Duffy went after the same talking point on Tuesday morning: “It seems very clear that [Vindman] is incredibly concerned about Ukrainian defense. I don’t know that he’s concerned about American policy, but his main mission was to make sure that the Ukraine got those weapons. I understand that. We all have an affinity to our homeland where we came from. Like me, I’m sure that Vindman has the same affinity or like Mark Meadows.”
Responded Berman: “Are you suggesting that you would put Irish defense over U.S. Defense? Is that what you’re saying?”
Added Duffy: “So are we saying that by giving this money to the Ukraine that absolutely is the money that’s going to secure American national defense against Russia? I don’t believe that. And so he’s entitled to his opinion. He has an affinity I think for the Ukraine. He speaks Ukrainian, and he came from the country and he wants to make sure they’re safe and free.”

Jeff Goldblum on his father’s “cruel” behavior towards his gay brother

Actor Jeff Goldblum has opened up about his family and early life in an interview with The Times Magazine in the UK.
The Jurassic World star, 67, reveals that his father did not respond well to learning that Jeff’s older brother, Lee, was gay. Not only did the older man keep it a secret, but he tried to have his son’s sexuality changed by forcing him to undergo so-called conversion therapy.
He says his father, Harold, had a “traditional masculine sense of himself.”
“He didn’t tell the rest of us [about Lee’s sexuality] … Sent him to a therapist in order to ‘fix him’. It was all secret. That’s not so nourishing.”
“My dad was, without knowing why, conspicuously cruel to [Lee] at times.”
His brother entered medical school but dropped out to join the army. He later became a taxi driver.
Goldblum says his brother went on to experience challenges throughout his life, including, “physical ailments, [being] overweight, pharmaceuticals abuse and self-medication issues”. He ended up moving back in with his parents and living with them for the last couple of decades of his life. He has since died.
Goldblum had another brother, Rick, who died at the age of 23 from kidney failure. He also has a sister, Pamela.
Some counselors and religious groups employ the controversial practice of so-called “conversion therapy” to try and convert people from being gay and bisexual towards heterosexuality. There is zero scientific evidence it works.
However, rather than helping people, studies have found such treatments can cause great mental health problems for those subjected to them.
Many respected psychiatric associations have condemned the practice and around a third of states in the US have banned it being administered to minors. The practice is banned outright in a handful of countries, including Brazil, Malta, and Uruguay.

Kathy Griffin Destroys L.A. News Anchor Who Tries to Mansplain the Comedy Scene to Her: WATCH
Kathy Griffin on Wednesday clapped back at an L.A. news anchor who had the gall to question her claim that she doesn’t get work because she’s a 58-year-old woman and comedy is a male-dominated field.
While doing promotion for her new film, Kathy Griffin: A Hell of a Story, she said: “By the way, I still do not one single day of paid work ahead of me for the rest of my life, you tell me that’s not because I’m a 58-year-old female in comedy.”
Meteorologist Mark Kriski interrupted: “I think there’s a lot of 58-year-old comedians working out there.”
As Kriski stammered, “I”m, uh, not into the comedy thing,” Griffin clapped back, “What is this guy? What’s up with the new guy?”
“The new guy,” repeated a taken-aback Kriski, who has been at KTLA for more than 20 years.
“The point is, it’s a male dominated field. I don’t really want to hear your take on that,” snapped Griffin.
“We got guests here ever day,” replied Kriski.
Replied Griffin: “Yeah, alright. You should really know your stats though. Anyway, working in a male-dominated field is something where I deal with that sort of thing every day, so I spend most of my day trying to talk to older white guys and explain I just want to do what I do.”

Director JJ Abrams told EW last month: “This is about bringing this thing to a close in a way that is emotional and meaningful and also satisfying in terms of actually answering [as many] questions as possible. So if years from now, someone’s watching these movies, all nine of them, they’re watching a story that is as cohesive as possible.”
Added Abrams: “While there were many things that were planned for and discussed—George Lucas himself said when he created this he saw it as three, three-act plays—that doesn’t mean there isn’t discovery, that doesn’t mean there aren’t things that come up that make you realize, ‘Oh, here’s an opportunity.’ It also doesn’t mean that there’s a list of payoffs that we have to do because of setups. But we also were very much aware this is the end of the trilogy and it needs to satisfy. We went into this thing knowing it has to be an ending. We’re not screwing around.”

A Clinton spokesman later affirmed that it was Gabbard about whom she was referring.
Gabbard responded to Clinton’s remarks in a tweet Friday afternoon: “Great! Thank you @HillaryClinton. You, the queen of warmongers, embodiment of corruption, and personification of the rot that has sickened the Democratic Party for so long, have finally come out from behind the curtain. From the day I announced my candidacy, there has been a concerted campaign to destroy my reputation. We wondered who was behind it and why. Now we know — it was always you, through your proxies and powerful allies in the corporate media and war machine, afraid of the threat I pose. It’s now clear that this primary is between you and me. Don’t cowardly hide behind your proxies. Join the race directly.”
She later told CBS News that she would not be running as a third party candidate and denounced Clinton several times.

I am running as a Democrat to take our party back, away from the control of people like Hillary Clinton and the warmongering and corrupt, powerful establishment and return our party into the hands of the people.
