LET’S DO THIS. Former U.S. Attorneys craft mock indictment of Rudy Giuliani: “While the Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel has issued legal opinions that a sitting president cannot be indicted, there is no similar prohibition on indicting a president’s personal lawyer or other potential co-conspirators involved in committing a federal crime. Based on facts already in the public record, we believe that Rudolph Giuliani could be indicted now for conspiracy to interfere with the fair administration of elections, conspiracy to commit bribery, and contempt of Congress. Below is what an indictment of Giuliani might look like if it were drafted today.”

EX-CON TO CON. Martha Stewart offers Felicity Huffman fashion advice: “She should style her outfit a little bit more.”

DEMOLISHED. AOC slaughtered Mark Zuckerberg on Capitol Hill. “So you won’t take down lies?”

HUMAN SCUM. White House defends Trump remarks: “The people who are against him and who have been against him and working against him since the day they took office are just that,” Grisham said during an appearance on “Fox & Friends” Thursday morning. “It is horrible that people are working against a president who’s delivering results for this country and has been since day one. The fact that people continue to try and negate anything that he’s doing and take away from the good work he’s doing on behalf of the American people, they deserve strong language like that.”

The Never Trumper Republicans, though on respirators with not many left, are in certain ways worse and more dangerous for our Country than the Do Nothing Democrats. Watch out for them, they are human scum!

LESLIE-LOHMAN MUSEUM. Rebranding: “The Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art in the SoHo neighborhood of New York is dropping “Gay and Lesbian” from its name, updating its mission and vision statements, and launching a capital campaign to raise $7 million to establish its first endowment fund and to create more than 1,000-square-feet of public space in the museum. The overhaul was revealed at the institution’s annual fall gala at the Judson Memorial Church on Tuesday, which marked the end of its fiftieth-anniversary year.”

JOHN RECHY. Pioneering gay author to receive UCLA medal: “Since before the current cultural moment that gives currency to diverse points of view, acclaimed novelist, playwright and essayist John Rechy has been centering on themes that defend gay, Mexican American, African American and immigrant rights. His best known work is his groundbreaking novel “City of Night.” Published in 1963, it is a first-person tour through Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and New Orleans, by an anonymous young male hustler from El Paso, Texas, that redefined writing about the gay community.”

ANIMAL CRUELTY. House passes bill making it a federal felony: “This bill sends a clear message that our society does not accept cruelty against animals. We’ve received support from so many Americans from across the country and across the political spectrum,” Deutch said in a statement. “I’m deeply thankful for all of the advocates who helped us pass this bill, and I look forward to the Senate’s swift passage and the President’s signature.”

RELAXING. Rats apparently like driving little cars: ‘The rats’ feces was collected after their trials to test for the stress hormone corticosterone as well as dehydroepiandrosterone, which counters stress. All rats that underwent training had higher levels dehydroepiandrosterone, indicating a more relaxed state, which could be linked to the satisfaction of gaining mastery over a new skill, referred to as “self-efficacy” or “agency” in humans.’

Marie Osmond: ‘I Actually Thought I Was Gay’ as a Result of Being Sexually Abused — WATCH

Marie Osmond told her co-hosts on The Talk this week that as a child she thought for a while that she might be gay because she had been sexually abused. The remarks came during a discussion of Miley Cyrus’s recent remarks about being gay and her relationships with men.

“When I was about 8 or 9 I actually thought I was gay. And the reason is because I had been sexually abused to the point that men made me sick. I didn’t trust them. I didn’t like them. … I had so many body issues. I was looking at women, and I thought, why am I looking at women? I must be gay. And then, I realized because I’m a thinker, why did God give me these great brothers and why did he give me this amazing father? And truly they changed my opinion of men, which made me feel that it was something I was going through.”

High School Football Team Under Investigation for Subjecting Gay Male Cheerleader to Homophobic Abuse, Bullying, and Physical Threats

High School Football Team Under Investigation for Subjecting Gay Male Cheerleader to Homophobic Abuse, Bullying, and Physical Threats

Members of the Wilcox High School football team in Santa Clara, California are under investigation by police after allegedly subjecting a 14-year-old gay male cheerleader who cheers for their team to homophobic abuse, bullying, and physical threats at one of their games. The cheerleader has not been identified because he is a minor. The situation has thrown the school into turmoil.

A Change.org petition urging “consequences” for the football players at fault is currently collecting signatures.

It says: “At a football game on October 18th, members of the Wilcox High School Varsity football team chanted homophobic slurs (including “f-g”) at a male member of the cheerleading team. They called him “gay” for cheerleading for THEIR team, and showing up every game to cheer them on. Despite the fact that the cheerleaders spend hours of their day cheering on various sports teams, these football members thought it appropriate to be cruel and harass a single cheerleader based on their biases and prejudice. While many people are aware of this incident, there is a slim chance much will be done to change this behavior by tweeting/posting about it. The main purpose of this petition is to call the administration and football coaches to attention, so they can investigate this incident. This sickening incident requires consequences, so it never happens to someone again. It would be greatly appreciated if you shared this.”

Reports of the players calling the cheerleader “gay” and a “fag” got wider exposure on social media shortly after the incident after the cheerleader’s sister, who had been the cheerleading squad’s captain but has since graduated, defended him on Twitter (screenshots via Outsports).

Santa Clara police are now investigating

The victim of the attacks posted a tweet on Sunday night denouncing the players that attacked him.

Said the tweet: “I am a boy and i am on the cheer team. i understand that people might think that’s different but when it comes down to it nobody deserves to be talked about in a negative way at all. it doesn’t matter your sexual orientation, your gender, your religion, your race or anything else. … everyone should be treated equally and it hurts my heart that people on the football team that are almost fully grown and are talking about me and my teammates and bashing us for no reason other than me being gay and a freshman and my friends sticking up for me. … THEN saying that nobody was talking bad about us or anything during the rally the people behind you heard everything you said and know your jersey number. i had nothing but respect for every single person on that team and everyone else i had no negative opinions on anyone. … i mind my business everyday when i get to school and i never wanted anything bad to happen to myself, anyone that i care about, and everyone else otherwise. thank you to everyone that is doing what they can to help me and my teammates, and everyone that is checking up on me.”

The Mercury News reports: ‘At the rally Friday, which administrators and teachers attended, the crowd and football players chanted, “Hey, Hey, Hey,” while waving arms back and forth, the source said, adding that the cheerleader might have interpreted the chants as, “Gay, Gay, Gay.” The father said that’s not what his son or his cheerleading teammates heard. “This is far from a misunderstanding,” said the father, who broke down several times during a 30-minute interview. The father says his son heard far worse, being called a slang word for being gay that is considered a slur. The father also said his son had been subjected to other incidents over the past month. The boy’s parents said they did not want their son to cheer Friday night at the game after the incident at the pep rally, but he went anyway. …The father said his son faced more verbal insults during halftime at the game. He said the cheerleaders protested the team by refusing to hold up banners the players run through to enter the field.’

The teen cheerleader did not attend school on Tuesday, out of fear for his safety.

The Mercury News added: “The father added that a Chargers football player also was threatened by teammates at the Santa Clara school after it was revealed that he provided the family with screenshots that corroborate the alleged slurs. The family has not provided this news organization with copies of the screenshots.”

The Santa Clara police are currently investigating: “What we can say is that we are investigating reports of inappropriate conduct and determining if it rises to a criminal matter.”

School district spokeswoman Jennifer Dericco released a statement on Tuesday: “At Santa Clara Unified School District, we proactively work to create an environment that embraces diversity and we do not tolerate harassment or bullying of any kind.”

Graham Winnie Wants One Thing for Her 100th Birthday: ‘To Impeach This Sucker’ — WATCH

A woman calling herself Grandma Winnie went viral on Tuesday for a video in which she holds a MAGA hat and makes her birthday wish known.

Hopefully Grandma Winnie gets her wish! pic.twitter.com/fdohMHJL1t

— Monica Graham (@graham_monica) October 22, 2019

“I’m 100 years old,” she says in the clip, “and all I want for my birthday is for someone to impeach this sucker.” She then flings the MAGA hat out of frame where it is heard bouncing on the floor.

Marketwatch reports: ‘It’s unclear whether the Grandma Winnie video is legit, however. The original clip appears to have first been shared on Instagram on Monday by activist art project Indecline 2020, which has used street art, film and parody to “expose justices carried out by both corporations and government agencies.” The lead clip on its Indiegogo page even parodies a Trump ransom video, where an actor pretending to be the president (whose wrists are in handcuffs) asks for donations for the art project. The group has raised a little over $19,000 toward its $250,000 goal. It did not immediately respond to a MarketWatch request for comment. But many on Twitter were indeed eating the video up, with several expressing surprise at Grandma Winnie’s appearing to be a Trump supporter at first but then ending her video on the cusp of dropping an F-bomb against the president.’

Lindsey Graham Backs Trump: Impeachment Inquiry ‘is a Lynching in Every Respect’ — WATCH

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) backed up Donald Trump’s characterization of the House impeachment inquiry as a “lynching.”

Sen. Lindsey Graham defended Pres. Trump’s tweet comparing the impeachment process to a “lynching,” saying, “This is a lynching in every sense. This is un-American.”

Other Republicans have since criticized the president’s use of “lynching.” t.co/6kwlIKJMP5 pic.twitter.com/JoQ4XwhSfX

— ABC News (@ABC) October 22, 2019

Said Graham: ““I think that’s pretty well accurate. This is a lynching in every sense. This is un-American. I’ve never seen a situation in my lifetime as a lawyer where somebody is accused of a major misconduct who cannot confront the accuser, call witnesses on their behalf and have the discussion in the light of day so the public can judge.”

Graham added: “I think lynching is being seen as somebody taking the law in their own hands and out to get somebody for no good reason. Yes, African Americans have [been] lynched. Other people have been lynched throughout history. What does lynching mean? That a mob grabs you, they don’t give you a chance to defend yourself, they don’t tell you what happened to you, they just destroy you. That’s exactly what’s happening in the United States House of Representatives right now. In every sense, this is a mob taking over the rule of law. This is fundamentally un-American and until it changes, I will fight back as hard as I can.”

Sevier County, Tennessee Commissioner Warren Hurst exploded at a public meeting on Monday about the county’s pending vote on becoming a gun sanctuary city.

Said Hurst: “It’s time we wake up people, it’s been time, it’s past time. We got a queer running for president, if that ain’t about as ugly as you can get. Look what we got running for president in the Democratic party. We can go over here to Hoss’s jail [Sevier County Sheriff] and get better people out of there than those running for democratic to be President of the United States.”

One woman walked out as the crowd applauded.

Added Hurst: “I’m not prejudice, a white male in this country has very few rights and they’re getting took more every day.”

‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ Trailer Previews the Epic End of the 42-Year Saga: WATCH

How does one being to an end 42 years of Star Wars storytelling? We will soon find out, but here’s a tease of it.

Director JJ Abrams told EW last month: “This is about bringing this thing to a close in a way that is emotional and meaningful and also satisfying in terms of actually answering [as many] questions as possible. So if years from now, someone’s watching these movies, all nine of them, they’re watching a story that is as cohesive as possible.”

Added Abrams: “While there were many things that were planned for and discussed—George Lucas himself said when he created this he saw it as three, three-act plays—that doesn’t mean there isn’t discovery, that doesn’t mean there aren’t things that come up that make you realize, ‘Oh, here’s an opportunity.’ It also doesn’t mean that there’s a list of payoffs that we have to do because of setups. But we also were very much aware this is the end of the trilogy and it needs to satisfy. We went into this thing knowing it has to be an ending. We’re not screwing around.”

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Keri Russell, Kelly Marie Tran and Billy Dee Williams.

Frank Ocean Defends Naming NYC Club Night ‘PrEP+’, Releases New Track DHL

Frank Ocean Defends Naming NYC Club Night ‘PrEP+’, Releases New Track DHL

Frank Ocean took to his Tumblr to address backlash surrounding his NYC club night PrEP+, named for the pre-exposure prophylaxis HIV prevention drug regimen.

Wrote Ocean: “Club culture around late 70s and 80s nightlife in NYC was a special, much talked about and written about thing. From the star studded midtown clubs like studio 54 and the first danceteria to the downtown clubs like Mudd + paradise garage. The figures, the music, the looks, the lack of regulation haha. I recognize NY wasn’t all lasers and disco lighting and that simultaneously, there was a lot of crime and poverty and that a huge part of club culture, the gay community, at that time were being wiped out by HIV + AIDS.”

“Now in 2019, there’s a pill you can take every day that will at a better than 90% chance prevent you from contracting HIV,” he added. “This pill was approved by the FDA in 2012. The pricing strategy behind it is malicious in my opinion and so it’s (sic) public perception is marred and rightfully so. But the fact remains that despite price being a very real barrier to this potentially life saving drug for some, the other very real barrier is awareness. I decided to name, what was otherwise going to be a night of lights and music inspired by an era of clubbing that I loved PrEP+ because while designing the club which is inside of an old glass factory basement in Queens (shoutout to The Basement that runs a very awesome techno night on Fridays after us) I started to imagine in an era where so many lives were lost and so much promise was lost forever along with them, what would it have been like if something, anything had existed that in all probability would’ve saved thousands and thousands of lives.”

Ocean continued: “I’m an artist, it’s core to my job to imagine realities that don’t necessarily exist and it’s a joy to. A couple days before we threw the party, I was discussing this subject with my team and one of the architects I work with thought that PrEP as a drug had reached ‘100% saturation’ so far as awareness. I thought he was dead wrong so I asked a friend (who I won’t name haha) if he knew what PrEP was and his response was ‘isn’t that some type of viagra or something’. My ex who I was with for several years didn’t know about it when we first met at a gay club in LA. Awareness isn’t always what we’d hope it would be. But anyway, I’m ranting. I’m happy that folks are talking about the subject in the first place. Thank you to everyone who came out and danced with us last night. Y’all were beautiful and the energy was right! Thank you Bouffant Bouffant, Sango, Justice and Sherelle for your sets last night they were soo good man. Oh one more thing, I saw someone say that this was a PR stunt etc etc, pshhh bitch pls come get a drink next time and I’ll put several barstools out so you can have as many seats as you need. All my love everybody really. Stay safe.”

Ocean this week also released a new track called DHL.

André Aciman Speaks Out About ‘Call Me By Your Name’ Sequel: ‘I Think This Ends the Tale of Elio and Oliver’

André Aciman Speaks Out About ‘Call Me By Your Name’ Sequel: ‘I Think This Ends the Tale of Elio and Oliver’

Call Me By Your Name author André Aciman is speaking out about Find Me, his sequel to the first novel, which follows the characters of Elio and Oliver in adulthood and arrives on October 29 (SPOILERS AHEAD).

Aciman told British Vogue that for the first time, we hear from Elio’s father Sami as the book opens with a section from his perspective. The name “Sami” is something Aciman said he “stole” from the film.

Aciman said that the characters tell their stories at 10, 15, and 20 year intervals following the timeframe of the first novel. Elio’s father becomes involved with a younger woman while Elio becomes involved with an older man named Michel.

The book leads to a “long-awaited, inevitable reunion” between Elio, and Oliver, who “is in an unhappy marriage, ruminating over his love affair with Elio,” according to The Guardian, which calls the book an “unashamedly romantic and philosophical novel.”

Added Aciman: “They are clearly more mature now and know how fragile life can be. They have both had other relationships, they know that they have to be careful and that a separation, should it occur again, would be devastating. Find Me gave me a sense of closure and finality. Of course, life is full of surprises and no road is without bumps or wrong turns. But I think this ends the tale of Elio and Oliver.”

The plot, released previously by Farrar, Straus and Giroux: “In Find Me, Aciman shows us Elio’s father Samuel, now divorced, on a trip from Florence to Rome to visit Elio, who has become a gifted classical pianist. A chance encounter on the train leads to a relationship that changes Sami’s life definitively. Elio soon moves to Paris where he too has a consequential affair, while Oliver, now a professor in northern New England with sons who are nearly grown, suddenly finds himself contemplating a return visit to Europe.”
