Feast Your Eyes on the Final Season of ‘EastSiders’ — TRAILER
Kit Williamson’s Emmy-nominated series EastSiders is headed back to Netflix on December 1 for a fourth and final season and looks set to tackle age-old questions about long term relationships, open marriages, and commitment with a lot of humor, sex, and drag.
An update on EastSiders’ characters, for those of you familiar with the series: “Cal (Kit Williamson) and Thom (Van Hansis) are back home from season three’s cross-country road trip, still a couple but wondering if they are really just best friends with benefits. Douglas (Willam) and Quincy (Stephen Guarino) are engaged to be married, but with very different ideas about what a gay wedding should be. Hillary (Brianna Brown) and Ian (John Halbach) are cohabiting peacefully; and Jeremy (Matthew McKelligon) and Derrick (Leith M. Burke) have taken a huge step in their relationship by fostering a child.”
Joining the cast this season are Jake Choi (Single Parents), Hailee Sahar (Pose), Tom Lenk (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Daniel Newman (The Walking Dead), Lin Shaye (Insidious), Bryan Batt (Mad Men), Traci Lords (Crybaby, Swedish Dicks), Manila Luzon and Katya Zamolodchikova (Drag Race), Max Emerson, Chris Salvatore (Eating Out), Jai Rodriguez (original Queer Eye), Brea Grant (Heroes), Satya Bhabha (Sens8), Jolly Abraham (Law & Order: SVU and Broadway’s Bombay Dreams), Seth Daniel (Feral), adult film star Adam Ramzi, drag performers Marta Beatchu and Biqtch Pudding (Dragula), Mark Kanemura (So You Think You Can Dance), RJ Aguilar, Andres Camilo, Rick Twombley-King and Griff Twombley-King.

EXCLUSIVE: Ellen DeGeneres, “Queer Eye” and “Orange Is The New Black” get the Dr. Seuss treatment for Netflix’s “Green Eggs & Ham”
In honor of its new Ellen DeGeneres-produced series Green Eggs and Ham (based on the 1960 Dr. Seuss book by the same name), Netflix is releasing a set of LGBTQ-themed parody art for the series, with references to iconic LGBTQ celebrities and shows including Queer Eye, Orange is the New Black, and Ellen DeGeneres herself…and GLAAD has your first look!
The story of Green Eggs and Ham is like a postmodern Planes, Trains and Automobiles through the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss. Karamo Brown says he’s “proud” of his “friend” Sean Spicer
Karamo Brown says he’s “proud” of his “friend” Sean Spicer
Queer Eye star Karamo Brown and dance partner Jenna Johnson were sadly eliminated out of Dancing With The Stars on Monday evening.
Talking to reporters afterward, Brown returned to a topic over which he faced criticism early on in the season: his friendship with former White House staffer Sean Spicer.
Spicer was press secretary for President Donald Trump for seven months from the time he took office in January 2017. Since resigning, Spicer has written a memoir of his time in the role, in which he praised Trump. He has not expressed regret or discomfort over any of Trump’s anti-LGBTQ actions since taking office.

People reports Brown telling reporters after his elimination that he’d been working on Spicer.
“My goal coming into this was to introduce myself to people who have never seen Queer Eye, to let them know who I am. And also, my goal has always been to show how if you can show kindness and lead with love, things can change.
Acknowledging the criticism he received for saying he was looking forward to competing alongside Spicer when the season got underway, Brown said, “Day one I got backlash [for supporting him]. I started this show with people telling me, ‘You’re horrible, you’re crazy, you’re stupid.’ Because I showed someone who has a different political view than mine kindness.”
The backlash was so extreme that Brown temporarily stepped away from social media. He says that as the show has gone on, he and Spicer have become friends – despite their political differences. He says he has pointed out to Spicer how thing he has said has hurt Brown, both as a gay man and person of color.
“Through this process, Sean’s trailer has been next to mine and I have literally every day been planting seeds in his heart.
“And literally, I could see each week those seeds … blossoming and that’s why [when I was sent home] he got emotional.
“Sean is literally someone who I would’ve never thought I could be friends with, and I’m going to walk away from here calling him a friend.
“I don’t think Sean’s going to make it to the end [of the competition], but I’m proud of him. I really am proud of him, because he’s had fun every week and I think he’s exceptional.”

Spicer told People that he’d become “close” to Brown throughout their time together on the show.
“I think that it’s been great getting to know [Brown], getting to discuss things with him. And so it’s tough to watch somebody that you’ve really got close to go home when you know how hard they’ve worked and how much progress they’ve made.”
Spicer is one of seven celebrity contestants remaining on this season of Dancing with the Stars.

In honor of LGBTQ History Month, we’re taking a deep dive look-back at the first gay publication in America—ONE magazine. Launched in Los Angeles in 1953, ONE was published by One, Inc., which grew from The Mattachine Society, the seminal gay-rights group founded by Harry Hay. Its editorial founders were Martin Block, Don Slater, and Dale Jennings. Produced on a shoestring and sold for 25 cents, ONE began to change the course of history with an unapologetic exploration of homosexuality and the largely unexamined societal taboo against it.
This is the seventh in our series of ONE magazine cover stories.
Volume 12, Issue 4: On Life and Art and the Homosexual
In this lyrical and culturally scorching essay, Bob Waltrip muses on the gay man’s existential condition — which in some ways echoes the general human condition:
I have often heard the cry, “But nobody understands.” Unfortunately, this is entirely true. Dear reader, nobody — absolutely nobody — understands you, and nobody ever will. You can live with another person all your life and he still won’t completely understand you. You can talk to a psychiatrist for twenty years and even he will not entirely understand you. Your parents never understood you, your friends have never understood you, and God himself probably never fathomed your mind. In order for another person to understand you, he has to shuck off his own problems and live your life for you inside your body. This is impossible, so it is impossible for anyone else to really understand. The best thing you can do is try to understand yourself.
Waltrip is also realistic about what a gay man could expect from the majority of his neighbors and acquaintances:
After you understand yourself, accept yourself for what you are and love yourself. But never, never make the horrible mistake of trying to make the heterosexual world accept you as well. It is not yet possible to ask Mrs. Bluelip down the street to accept you as a homosexual. She will accept you on a thousand other terms — if you’re that nice Mr. Jones who raises gardenias and dresses so well. This is what you must work with — dress well, raise gardenias, and be friends with her. After you are very good friends she might come to a realization of your sexual proclivities. But I would never recommend that you come right out and tell her.
… The homosexual wages a continual battle, and wears a disguise that is only discarded during those rare moments when he is alone with another man, making love to him. Only then can he be himself. He is not a fictional character. He is not a strong character. He is an extremely frail and complicated thing called a human being. And he is also my brother. And I love him.
We wish we could show Mr. Waltrip an episode of Queer Eye, in which even the most prim neighbors understand and accept, or take him to a Pride parade where hundreds of thousands of allies march in the streets.
We think he’d be glad to see how much love there is to go around these days.

Karamo Brown from “Queer Eye” thinks Trump’s lying former press secretary is “nice” & “very sweet”
Sean Spicer, the lackey who used to regularly spread Trump’s lies to the American public while serving as his White House Press Secretary, is going to be on the upcoming season of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars. In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, his co-“star” Karamo Brown said he considered the liar “a good guy, a really sweet guy.”
Yeah, sweet like a kick to the throat.

When asked who he thought his biggest competition is, Brown answered:
“Actually, no lemme tell you something. Um, Sean Spicer and I have been talking. Yeah, like, literally, I was most excited to meet him because, like the thing is that people would look at us and think that we’re polar opposites but I’m a big believer that if you can talk to someone and meet in the middle that you can learn about each other and help each other both grow. So we have been chatting all day today. Like, he’s a good guy, a really sweet guy. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Karamo from Queer Eye saying Sean Spicer is a nice guy. I know. I know.”
Well at least Brown knows, girl.
Brown should also know:
Spicer lied to the press about the circumstances surrounding the firing of then-national security adviser Michael Flynn and the firing of former FBI Director James Comey. On the very network that airs “Dancing with the Stars,” Spicer defended Trump’s baseless and frankly racist lie that three to five million people voted illegally in the November election.
Trump uses Spicer’s lies to help obstruct an investigation into Russia’s role into helping get him elected and to start a Voter Fraud Commission that meant to suppress voting amongst Democrats and people of color. He also lied about a bunch of other hateful stuff too.
“A good guy, a really sweet guy.”
When called out by disappointed fans for his help in rehabilitating Spicer’s well-deserved infamy, Brown responded in some now-deleted tweets:
“First, I have no say who is on the cast and didn’t find out till this morning that he is on! But I’ll tell you this… I’m excited to sit down w/ him and engage in a respectful conversations. Only way things get better is if we try to educate those who have different POV than us.”
In another tweet, Brown also expressed how he “can’t stand people” who post things “just to flame the fire and get a reaction. We fight harder than your ass ever has for people of color and members of the LGBTQIA community” after someone else called him out.
Here’s video of Brown talking about how “nice” Spicer is:

As The Cut points out, Dancing With the Stars has featured right-wing political figures before including grifty Tom DeLay, white supremacist Tucker Carlson, Alaska Moose-mom Bristol Palin and Rick Perry before he became our Secretary of Energy. We assume it’s just a bid by ABC to get conservative viewers. Blecccch.
