As previously reported on Queerty, the sixth and final season of Schitt’s Creek is due to premiere on January 7, 2020.

Billboards promoting the final season have now started popping up, and one on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles features a giant image of David (played by Dan Levy) kissing love interest Patrick (played by Noah Reid). The two characters got engaged in the last season of the show.

An image of one such billboard was photographed by comic Jack Kelly and posted to Instagram.

Levy saw the image and re-shared it, with the message: “F*ck yes we did. Shine bright, friends. Very grateful for @poptv and @cbc and their support on this campaign that my teenage self would never have dreamed to be true. ✌🏼❤😘

Levy is gay in real life. He stars in the show alongside his real-life dad, Eugene Levy.

The Canadian sitcom, which garnered four Emmy nominations earlier this year and scooped a GLAAD award for Dan Levy, follows the misadventures of the once-wealthy Rose family as they try to recover after losing their fortune. Their only option: move to the tiny city of Schitt’s Creek, which they bought as a joke birthday gift for their son in the early 1990s.

It airs on CBC in Canada and Pop TV in the US. The show has included several LGBTQ storylines in its previous five seasons.

“Schitt’s Creek has become a pop culture phenomenon fueled by the most talented cast and the most passionate fans in all of television, and the final season is sure to be weekly must-watch TV as we see what happens to the Roses,” Pop TV president Brad Schwartz said when the final season was announced.

“It is gut-wrenching to say goodbye, but we know this final season will deliver even more of the heart and humor that has made the series one of the best ever.”

The show has picked up a large LGBTQ following. Earlier this week, at a Schitt’s Creek pop-up promotion in New York City. The recreations of the Schitt’s Creek set – specifically Rose Apothecary – provided the perfect backdrop for one man to get down on his knee and propose to his boyfriend.

“I felt that the Schitt’s Creek pop-up was the perfect spot to express my commitment,” John told People of his proposal to partner Jonathan. “We bonded over the true meaning of the show like thousands of others have. This was by far the most special night of our lives.”
