LOVING HER, LOVING HIM
Monday 17, Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 July, 7.30pm, £12/£10.
Bandit Mugger and Thief, One Canal Street, M1 3HE.
It’s May 2020 and the first Mayor of Manchester has just been elected as Prime Minister! Two of the men who got him there witness the rise of fall of Jeremy Corbyn, as they conduct an illicit affair that stretches the last days of Gordon Brown’s Government to first of Andy Burnham’s. Back in the 1970s, two men meet by chance in a hotel at Margaret Thatcher’s first Conservative Party Conference. The extremes of Thatcher’s Government mirror their tempestuous affair, as the two men struggle with each other and the pace of change.
“Loving Her, Loving Him” is a brilliant political romance performed by two incredible actors Joel Parry (“Broken”) and Dean Gregory. It’s scandalous, nearly libellous, and often hilarious material from one of the region’s most acclaimed emerging playwrights, Stephen M Hornby.
Inkbrew won the Greater Manchester Fringe Best Drama Award 2016 for “Die Diana” and was nominated for Best Fringe Production at the Manchester Theatre Awards 2017.
