It’s ‘Face Your Fears’ week on The Talk – where each day a different co-host must complete a Fear Factor-esque challenge built around a major fear. On Tuesday’s live episode, Sara Gilbert, who has a fear of getting hurt or injured, was tasked with laying down on a bed of nails while a cinder block placed on her stomach was destroyed with a sledgehammer. 

Before the challenge began, Gilbert announced that while she was a believer in facing your fears and doing things that make you uncomfortable, she would not be doing the task – revealing that she was in fact pregnant. 

Her co-hosts, as you can imagine, were brought to tears by the genuine surprise.

This is the first child for Gilbert and her wife Linda Perry. The two were married back in March.
