A Message for My Little Boy Who Likes to Wear Tutus
I have a little boy…
A little boy who likes to wear tutus. A little boy who likes to dance. A little boy who loves to paint and a little boy who hums happy tunes all day long.
A comment came.
A comment too riddled with prejudice for me to repeat. A warning to me to be careful. A warning to not encourage such things or I’ll regret it later.
And so to this person I say nothing. For my words to her will change nothing. But to my little boy I say this, for my words can change everything.
I say dance. And not just hip-hop dancing — wear that blue tutu that you love and twirl and twirl.
I say wear whatever clothes you want. Wear blue because you like blue, not because it’s a boys’ color. And if you like pink, well, wear pink. And if you want to wear your sister’s dress, then heck, go ahead and do that too.
What’s that? Well of course you can wear fairy wings. Oh, and a firefighter’s hat too? Sure. And you know what? I’ll wear one too. And we’ll all head out for a walk, dressed in our glad rags, laughing and giggling.
Shall we play with clay today, Mommy? Sure. Shall we add some sparkly beads? Sure. And why not? Are pretty things that sparkle only to be enjoyed by girls?
Do you want to play soccer, Mommy? Sure do, buddy. But let’s play it because it brings you joy, not because it’s a boys’ sport. And maybe after we finish we can go inside and finish that tea party we were playing this morning?
I have a little boy.
He is a boy. He is a child. He likes to play. He builds blocks and plays house. He plays soccer and dances on tippy-toes.
He really couldn’t care less if he uses a pink toothbrush or a blue one. And neither could I.
And neither should you.
I have a little boy.

Brace yourself for what may truly be the most shocking news of the day: 18-year-old Jack Walton, the totally hot shirtless guy pictured to the right, says he struggles with finding girls to date.
How could this possibly be, you ask?
Because, Walton says, his mother is a lesbian.
“This girl I really liked, she came to my house, and she found out about my mum and said, ‘Look, I can’t do this because it makes me uncomfortable,’” he said in an interview, PinkNews reports.
Walton is currently a contestant on the X Factor. He recently opened up about his mother coming out when he was 11 years old, and how he’s dealt with people who don’t understand.
“She was still married to my dad then,” he explains. “It was hard to see that. My dad was heartbroken.”
His friends, Walton says, didn’t get it.
“I got a lot of stick for it,” he says. “All my mates were saying ‘Oh, that’s gay,’ and I’d say, ‘Don’t say that about my mum.’ I tried to explain to them what it’s like. And I’d say, ‘If it was your mum, how would you feel?’”
Walton says he has never been ashamed of his mom. He loves her no matter what. In fact, he now lives with she and her partner, Jackie, at their home in Castleford, Yorkshire.
“You can’t disown your mum,” he says. “If she is happy, that’s the main thing.”

Multiple Gunmen Involved In Attack On Canadian Parliament: VIDEO
Two to three gunmen have attacked the Canadian Parliament, the War Memorial and possibly a mall in Ottawa, Canada, killing one soldier who was on guard at the national War Memorial according to USA Today. CNN reports:
The Canadian government has informed the United States that one shooter is dead in Ottawa, a senior U.S. official said. So far, there is “no indication the shooter has ties to violent Islamic extremism,” but it is still extremely early in the investigation, the source said.
In response to the ongoing situation at Canada’s Parliament, the North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD, has increased its alert posture, CNN has learned. That means that it has increased the number of planes on a higher alert status ready to respond if needed. NORAD and Canadian authorities are in contact, an official told CNN.
Police officers rushed to secure the Parliament building and move occupants to safety as they hunted for what Canadian news reports said were possibly two or three assailants, in what had the appearance of a coordinated attack.
The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reported that one assailant was killed. The condition of the soldier who was shot was not immediately clear. Witnesses reported earlier they believed the soldier had been killed.
Marc Coucy, a representative of the Ottawa Police Service, told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation that officers were looking for “multiple suspects” in shootings at three locations.
The shootings came amid heightened concern about terrorist attacks in Canada, two days after a radical jihadist convert ran over two soldiers at a suburban Montreal strip mall, killing one of them. Prime Minister Stephen Harper, an outspoken critic of the Islamic State movement and other militant groups, has been considering the introduction of new antiterrorism legislation.
The shootings began about 10 a.m., just as the leaders of Parliament were holding their weekly meetings, suggesting the possibility of deliberate timing. Many of the lawmakers were rushed into secure rooms in the basement by guards.

Sarah Paulson Reveals The 'AHS: Freak Show' Scene That Made Her Cry
Sarah Paulson has participated in some intense scenes on “American Horror Story,” but you might be surprised which one freaked her out the most.
On “AHS: Freak Show,” Paulson plays a two-headed woman with differing personalities, making even menial tasks exponentially more difficult. Paulson explained in an interview with Vulture that because of this a seemingly simple scene caused her to lose it on set.
In the scene, one of the conjoined twins, Bette, is trying to eat bread while the other, Dot, writes in a diary. “My voice kept wanting to come out as Dot. I freaked out. Before I knew it, I was crying on set,” said Paulson.
The actress went on to explain that show creator Ryan Murphy calmed her down by taking her on a walk and explaining that what she was trying to do hadn’t been done before. Murphy’s words echo ones he has said during press for the show. When talking to The Hollywood Reporter about Paulson’s role this season, he said, “She literally has to do scenes with herself, which is insane.”
Though navigating through disorienting scenes on this season is difficult for Paulson, everything from past seasons suggests she’ll be up to the task. Earlier this year, the actress opened up to “Late Night” host Seth Meyers about a variety of bizarre scenes she’s already had to do on “AHS,” which included breastfeeding 35-year-old Zachary Quinto and having sex while being surrounded by snakes.
The actress did say that she had “some tequila” to calm her nerves for the snakes, but we’ll cut her some slack on that one.
