Must See LGBTQ TV: ‘Orphan Black’ kicks off final season; ‘Shadowhunters,’ ‘Wynonna Earp’ and more return

Grab the remote, set your DVR or queue up your streaming service of choice! GLAAD is bringing you the highlights in LGBTQ on TV this week. Check back every Sunday for up-to-date coverage in LGBTQ-inclusive programming on TV.

Shadowhunters is back for the second half of its second season on Monday. The remainder of this season will go further into the rift between the Shadowhunters and the Downworlders after Valentine’s attack on the Institute. In the premiere, a greater demon is let loose in New York, Simon works to understand his new life as a Daylighter, and Izzy meets a mysterious stranger named Sebastian. Fans can look forward to seeing how Magnus and Alec’s relationship grows after they said their first “I love you’s” in the 2A finale. Shadowhunters: Monday, 8pm on Freeform.

Netflix’s award winning original Orange is the New Black is back for its fifth season on Friday. The new season will pick up immediately where season four left off, with the impending prison riot. Orange is the New Black: Friday, on Netflix. 

Syfy’s fun and exciting drama Wynonna Earp is back for season two on Friday. The new season follows the titular Wynonna, her sister Waverly, and thier team as they work to rid their town of demons and break the curse on their family. The second season will also further explore the relationship between Waverly and Officer Nicole Haught. Wynonna Earp: Friday, 10pm on SyFy. 

BBC America’s Orphan Black is back for its fifth and final season. The fifth season will continue to tell the story of seveal clones (all played by the superb Emmy Award-winning Tatiana Maslany) as they band together to uncover their history and control their own lives. Season five will also continue to delve into the relationship between Cosima (Maslany) and scientist Delphine (Evelyne Brochu) who reunited last season as the series winds down to a close. Orphan Black: Saturday, 10pm on BBC America.

In honor of Pride month, Turner Classic Movies is doing a spotlight on “Gay Hollywood.” Every Thursday in the month of June, TCM is airing films written or starring LGBTQ talent, and historicial films with LGBTQ significance. Check out their website for a list of films the network will be showing, and when you can watch them.
