The ninth season of Showtime’s Shameless premieres this Sunday. The show continues to follow the dysfunctional Gallagher family, including Ian, who ended last season being hailed as a “Gay Jesus.” Season nine will continue that storyline as well as telling further queer stories. In the Season 9 premiere, Frank’s latest sexual escapades get him into trouble with the Hopkins Academy PTA; Fiona struggles with her decision to bail Ian out of jail, while he continues his Gay Jesus antics inside; Debbie fights for equal pay at work; and Kev and V have trouble with the twins without Svetlana. Shameless: Sunday, 9pm on Showtime.
This Friday, the fifth season of animated dark comedy BoJack Horseman will be released in its entirety on Netflix. The critically acclaimed show is notable for including one of television’s few asexual characters, Todd Chavez, a human who finds himself caught up in frequent hijinks. We hope that his storyline will continue in this season, and open doors for further asexual and aromantic characters in media. BoJack Horseman: Friday on Netflix.
