Must-See LGBTQ TV: Catch the ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ season finale and Tig Notaro’s’s new Netflix special

This Sunday is the season finale of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. This could have been the series finale, but luckily the show was saved from cancellation by NBC last week and will continue into its sixth season there. Brooklyn Nine-Nine received the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comedy series last month, thanks to the inclusion of out gay police captain Raymond Holt, and bi detective Rosa Diaz, who had a wonderful coming out story play out this season. In the finale, Rosa will have a new love interest introduced played by Gina Rodriguez, which is in shown in the clip below. Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Sunday, 8:30pm on Fox.
Out lesbian comedian Tig Notaro is releasing her new stand up special on Tuesday. The special, Happy to Be Here will include Notaro talking about her wife, and one of their sons routinely coming out to them. “The whole family’s gay, it’s not a big deal,” she jokes. Notaro’s special is a follow up to her 2015 HBO special Boyish Girl Interrupted and lists Ellen DeGeneres as an executive producer. Tig Notaro: Happy to Be Here: Tuesday on Netflix.
