Must-See LGBT TV 1/10-16: Golden Globes; 'Shadowhunters' premieres; 'Younger,' 'Shameless' return

The 73rd Annual Golden Globes air live on NBC Sunday night. Carol leads in the film categories with five nominations total. Lily Tomlin picked up two nominations for Best Performance by an Actress, one for her work in the film Grandma and one for her Netflix series Grace and Frankie. Shameless returns tonight! In the season premiere, Fiona and Ian clash as she struggles to get him to stick to his medication regime and Debbie visits the clinic for a pregnancy test. Meanwhile, Frank continues to mourn the loss of Bianca and his newfound enthusiasm for life confuses the family. Shameless: Sunday, 9pm on Showtime.
The new sci-fi drama Shadowhunters premieres Tuesday on Freeform, the network formerly known as ABC Family. The show is based on the Mortal Instruments novels which follow a girl who learns that she is a Shadowhunter, a human-angel hybrid who hunts demons. As she gets drawn into the world of hunting, she meets closeted Shadowhunter Alec and bisexual high warlock Magnus. Shadowhunters: Tuesday, 9pm on Freeform.
TVLand’s Younger returns for a second season Wednesday. The series follows Liza, a 40-year-old recently single mother, who wants to pass herself off as a 26-year-old in order to get back into the working world. Her lesbian best friend Maggie helps give her a makeover and trains her on pop culture. Younger: Wednesday, 10pm on TVLand.
