Lifetime blood donor restriction for gay men lifted
New Zealand and Australia among others. The lifetime ban policy was first implemented in 1983 in an attempt to limit infection of HIV. The policy had been under fire by Civil Rights groups who claim it is discriminatory against gay and bisexual men.
