Everest, the upcoming climate-disaster thriller based on the real events of the ill-fated May 1996 Mount Everest expedition, unveiled its first trailer today. And like the mountain itself, the trailer is nothing short of breathtaking.

Inspired by the incredible events surrounding an attempt to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain, Everest documents the awe-inspiring journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind. 

The film stars Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Robin Wright, Sam Worthington, Michael Kelly, and Jake Gyllenhaal and arrives in theaters September 18.
