HRC Mississippi Attends Egg Bowl; Raises Awareness about LGBTQ Issues on Campus

Post submitted by Harry Hawkins, Field Organizer HRC Mississippi

This past Saturday, HRC Mississippi attended the Egg Bowl, which is the annual football game between Mississippi State University and the University of Mississippi. The event is a longstanding Mississippi tradition and HRC Mississippi was proud to be in attendance.

We were at the game to raise awareness about LGBTQ issues and to provide support to the various LGBTQ organizations and groups at Mississippi State. It was great to have conversations with supporters and people passing by, many commenting that they were proud to see HRC and rainbow flags flying in the Junction.

We’re grateful to the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center, MSU Spectrum and Lambda Professionals for helping to make the tailgate a great success.

As young people push to attain the goals of the LGBTQ community on their campuses, HRC is working to provide tools, facilitate connections with other LGBTQ student activists across the country and empower youth to fight for LGBTW equality on campus and beyond. Learn more here.
