Here are the 18 best pictures from the Manchester Pride parade
Over 100,000 people lined the streets of Manchester to celebrate Pride today.
In one of the crowning celebrations of the LGBTI community of the season, numerous groups from the northern English city took part in the march.
Sir Ian McKellen, who designed Gay Star News’ limited edition tote bags (‘You Shall Not Pass Anti-Gay Laws!’) that were given out during the day, said it is days like this that make him feel ‘extremely proud’.
‘It’s more than just a celebration,’ he told reporters before the parade began.
‘You can now get married in this England, Wales, Scotland, but not in Northern Ireland who are still holding out for the old ways. While we must celebrate, we must also remember the fight is not over.’
