Golden Globe Nominations Highlight Work of LGBT and Allied Community
The Hollywood Foreign Press announced nominations for the 73rd annual Golden Globes this morning, giving the LGBT and allied community many things to celebrate.
The film Carol about a same-sex couple in the 1950s led the way with five nominations, including Best Motion Picture, Drama.
Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander were nominated for the roles in The Danish Girl.
HRC supporters Lily Tomlin, Mark Ruffalo and Bryan Cranston were nominated in film categories as well.
For TV, Transparent received three nominations, including Best Television Series –Musical or Comedy and actor Jeffrey Tambor for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series-Musical or Comedy. Orange is the New Black was also nominated for Best Television Series –Musical or Comedy.
HRC supporters Alan Cumming, Lady Gaga and Jamie Lee Curtis were also nominated. Lily Tomlin received a second nomination for her role in Grace and Frankie.
Yesterday, the LGBT and allied community dominated the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards nominations.
HRC congratulates all of the nominees. The Golden Globes will air on January 10.
