During Donald Trump‘s scarefest…err, speech, he promised to protect Americans from the attacks we are all personally about to become the victims of when the sky falls on our collective heads, which will happen immediately. That is, unless he is elected to the highest office in the land.

Don’t let the Republican Party’s homophobic and transphobic platform fool you, nor Trump’s own anti-LGBT rhetoric, nor the anti-LGBT actions of his vice presidential pick Mike Pence; a President Trump would protect us all.
Or so he claims.
“As your President, I will do everything in my power to protect our LGBTQ citizens from the violence and oppression of a hateful foreign ideology,” Trump said.
#LGBTQ quickly became a trending hashtag and it was quick to see without looking too far that the vast majority of people weren’t buying it.

I’m glad a lot of LGBTQ folks aren’t buying Trump’s comments about “protecting” us. I’ve seen school plays that had better acting than that.

You can claim to be with them all you want, Mr. Trump, but it does not appear as if the feeling is mutual.
