TODAY — TRUMP, RENACCI AND DEWINE BRING DANGEROUS ANTI-LGBTQ ATTACKS TO OHIO: Donald Trump is scheduled to raise money for anti-LGBTQ U.S. Senate candidate Rep. Jim Renacci and Ohio gubernatorial candidate Mike DeWine in Columbus today. “Donald Trump, Jim Renacci and Mike DeWine have pushed anti-LGBTQ policies that are not only wrong, they are politically toxic in a state with more than 1.5 million Equality Voters,” said HRC State Manager Shawn Copeland. “Renacci opposes marriage equality, doesn’t support the Equality Act and has maintained a ‘zero’ score on HRC’s Congressional Scorecard for his entire career in the U.S. House. As Attorney General, DeWine defended the state’s marriage ban, stating that LGBTQ people did not deserve ‘protected-class status.’ That’s why HRC is mobilizing members and volunteers across Ohio to ensure voters stand up and reject Renacci, DeWine and their dangerous agenda.” More from HRC and PRIZM.
MASSACHUSETTS — VOTE YES ON PROP 3 TO PROTECT TRANS EQUALITY: HRC is working as part of the Freedom Massachusetts campaign to ensure Bay Staters turn out to vote “yes on 3” to uphold the Commonwealth’s non-discrimination law protecting transgender people from discrimination in public spaces, such as restaurants, stores, and doctors’ offices. In 2016, the Massachusetts legislature passed — with a bipartisan, supermajority vote — the historic non-discrimination protections for transgender people, and Republican Governor Charlie Baker signed the bill into law in July 2016. Shortly after it went into effect in October 2016, a small group of opponents gathered the minimum number of signatures required to place the law on the ballot for repeal this November. A “yes” vote on Question 3 keeps the current law in place. More from Washington Blade.

WITHOUT ADEQUATE ACCESS TO LIFESAVING CARE, TOO MANY TRANS PEOPLE TURN TO CROWDFUNDING: Larissa Shively-Vitt of Kansas is a proud transgender veteran who has been forced to crowdfund to pay for medically necessary care. Sadly, crowdfunding is rarely successful and no person should have to rely on it to access they care that they need. The Veterans Administration has the ability to change their regulations to provide for all veterans. More from KCUR.
