Activists in Arkansas Meet for Town Halls
Post submitted by James Rector – HRC Arkansas Field Organizer
Over the past two weeks, members and supporters of HRC Arkansas have met several times to learn about grassroots advocacy. We’ve met in Jonesboro and Fayetteville and a final town hall will take place in Little Rock on Tuesday, March 29. There will be two more opportunities to learn about activism in the Natural State in the coming months in Northeast, Northwest and Central Arkansas.
This series will focus on training volunteers to become stronger advocates and activists when it comes to influencing candidates and elected officials, shaping platform issues and actively driving policy change for LGBTQ constituents.
The town halls also are a chance to discuss the strategic goals of HRC Arkansas and provide an opportunity to create specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound goals for each region. The town halls are designed to expand opportunities for volunteers to work together to lead the work in their specific regions.
Participants in the town hall sessions will be invited to attend regional HRC Connect events between the training sessions.
