- Horrifying — HRC mourns Layleen Polanco, trans woman found dead at Rikers Island: Over the weekend, Polanco was found unresponsive in Rikers Island. FROM THE NYTIMES — PRIDE FLAGS AND FOREIGN POLICY US DIPLOMATS SEE SHIFT ON LGBTQ RIGHTS: The Times’ Ernesto Londoño (@londonoe) reports from Brazil, where Trump-Pence banned flying the Pride flag outside the U.S. embassy, and there’s “an increasingly hostile environment for gay Brazilians” since Jair Bolsonaro was elected president.
