SCOTUS Nominee Brett Kavanaugh Issues New Denial of Sexual Assault Allegations

Trump Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has issued a new statement denying allegations he sexually assaulted a former high school classmate: “This is a completely false allegation. I have never done anything like what the accuser describes—to her or to anyone. Because this never happened, I had no idea who was making this accusation and she identified herself yesterday. I am willing to talk to the Senate Judiciary Committee in any way the Committee deems appropriate to refute this false allegation, from 36 years ago, and defend my integrity.”

The classmate, Christine Blasey Ford, came forward and unmasked herself on Sunday in an interview with the Washington Post, claiming Kavanaugh attacked her, held her down, covered her mouth, and tried to strip off her clothing. Her attorney said on Monday morning that she was willing to testify before Congress.
