Michelle Visage to present ‘Drag Race’ co-star Ross Mathews with Davidson/Valentini Award

GLAAD has officially announced that singer, author, radio DJ, and television personality Michelle Visage will present fellow RuPaul’s Drag Race panel judge, Ross Matthews, with the Davidson/Valentini Award at the 2018 GLAAD Gala San Francisco at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco on Saturday, September 15, 2018.

The two have built a spowerful bond over the years, serving together on the judges panel of the Emmy-nominated series RuPaul’s Drag Race

Internationally renowned television personality, radio show host, platinum-selling recording artist, and now author, Michelle Visage has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry, across multiple mediums for the past three decades. One of Visage’s most coveted ventures was her 2015 book, The Diva Rules: Ditch the Drama, Find Your Strength, and Sparkle Your Way to the Top [Chronicle Books], in which she shares her tips and helpful advice for lliving a happy, fulfilling life.

On the television front, Visage can be seen as a judge on the award winning and highest-rated television program on VH1 show, RuPaul’s Drag Race, alongside RuPaul, Carson Kressley, and Ross Mathews. The reality competition show, which aired its tenth season on March 22, 2018, leaves fans wanting more each week with their quick wit, impeccable sense of style and signature sass, as they decide who will stay, lip-synch for their life or “Sashay Away.” Visage joined the show, which boasts over a million viewers every week and airs internationally in countries like Australia, Canada and the UK, in 2011 during season 3. Visage also tours the country as part of RuPaul’s Drag Race tour.

Additional television credits include, competing on the fifteenth season of “Celebrity Big Brother” in the United Kingdom in early 2015, where Visage came in fifth place. Visage has also appeared on VH1 in the late 1990s/early 2000s, hosting live coverage of red carpet events such as “The Grammys” in 1998, the 25th anniversary re-release party of GREASE [Paramount] in 2002, and “The Viewer’s Choice Awards.”

Visage has been a staple on morning radio for two decades, hosting and co-hosting programs on various stations such as WKTU 103.5 [New York], KHHT’s HOT 92.3 [Los Angeles], SUNNY 104.3 [West Palm Beach, FL], and 66 THE BEAT [Sirius XM], to name a few.

On the music front, Visage rose to fame as a member of the all-girl group Seduction in the early 1990s, with their platinum-selling album called “Nothing Matters Without Love,” that spawned multiple hits that climbed the billboard charts. Visage was also featured on the bestselling soundtrack of all time [35 million copies sold], THE BODYGURARD [Warner Brothers Pictures], with her remake of Bill Withers’ “It’s Gonna Be A Lovely Day,” that she wrote and sang. The song was immediately signed to Arista Records by Clive Davis himself.

Visage currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband and her two daughters.
