Demi Lovato Launches GLAAD Fundraiser on Facebook for Pride Month

Demi Lovato continues to show massive support for the LGBTQ community. On June 26, Lovato took to her Facebook page to officially kick start a pride fundraiser for GLAAD. Launching the campaign on the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s ruling for marriage equality, the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer passed her original goal of $5,000 within hours of posting the fundraiser.

Lovato cited her support of the LGBTQ community, GLAAD’s extensive work for the LGBTQ rights, and June being Pride Month among the reasons for launching the fundraiser.

“I’m raising money for GLAAD and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500,” Lovato wrote in a Facebook post. “Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support.”

Lovato has done extensive work with both GLAAD and the LGBTQ community before. In 2016, she was honored with the Vanguard Award during the annual GLAAD Media Awards for her work with LGBTQ youth. The Grammy-nominated artist also served as a GLAAD ambassador on Spirit Day as part of GLAAD’s anti-bullying campaign.

The campaign has already raised more than $10,000 only one day after its launch, with its current goal sitting at $30,000. You can donate to Lovato’s fundraiser here
