HISTORIC — NEW HAMPSHIRE APPROVES TRANS NON-DISCRIM BILL: Yesterday, the New Hampshire Senate passed HB 1319, legislation that would update the state’s laws prohibiting discrimination in employment, housing and public spaces to explicitly include the state’s transgender residents. HB 1319 was approved by a bipartisan vote of 14-10 and now heads to the Governor’s desk for his signature. “No person should be fired, evicted, or denied service just because of who they are, and it is far beyond time that New Hampshire’s non-discrimination protections include transgender people,” said HRC National Field Director Marty Rouse. “Inclusive non-discrimination protections are now one step closer to becoming law, and we urge Governor Sununu to continue this momentum by signing HB 1319.” Yesterday’s victory marks the first statewide proactive win on LGBTQ non-discrimination in any state since 2016. TODAY — COALITION TO UPHOLD MASSACHUSETTS’ PROTECTIONS FOR TRANS PEOPLE LAUNCHES: Freedom for All Massachusetts (FFAM), the bipartisan coalition seeking to uphold the state’s gender identity nondiscrimination law at the ballot box in November, will officially launch its campaign today in Boston, unveiling broad support for the law. - In 2016, soon after a bill to add gender identity to the state’s nondiscrimination laws passed in the state legislature with bipartisan supermajorities in both chambers, opponents of the law confirmed they had gathered enough signatures to bring it to the November 2018 ballot for repeal. If repeal occurs, this would officially position Massachusetts as the first and only statewide voter initiative to revoke legal protections for transgender people in the country.

And I got upset knowing you had that struggle, because I thought of all that pain,” said them Editor Tyler Ford’s father, of his child’s coming out. “Your journey is my journey, and as long as I look to you and keep learning, it can help others. SENATOR TAMMY BALDWIN (D-WI) CALLS ON TRUMP TO WITHDRAW JUDICIAL NOMINATION OF ANTI-LGBTQ GORDON GIAMPIETRO: Giampietro has referred to birth control as “an assault on nature,” said marriage equality is “against God’s plan” and LGBTQ people are “troubled” and unfit to be parents.
