TODAY — SENATE MUST REJECT TRUMP-PENCE ANTI-LGBTQ JUDICIAL NOMINEE KYLE DUNCAN: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell scheduled a vote for today in an effort to suspend debate over extremist judicial nominee Kyle Duncan and fast-track him to the federal bench despite his discriminatory record. This follows months of outcry over Duncan’s troubling history of anti-LGBTQ conduct. “Kyle Duncan poses a grave threat to the rights and safety of LGBTQ people throughout the country” said David Stacy, HRC Government Affairs Director. “His agenda to undermine LGBTQ equality makes him a dangerous choice to maintain law and order and is yet another instance of Donald Trump and Mike Pence attacking LGBTQ people from the federal bench.” More from HRC.

TRUMP’S LATEST ATTACK ON TRANS PEOPLE — HHS CONSIDERING ROLL BACK OF GROUNDBREAKING PROTECTIONS FOR TRANSGENDER PEOPLE:  Regulations implementing section 1557 of the ACA, issued by the Obama Administration in 2016, expressly protects individuals from discrimination on the basis of gender identity and sex stereotyping. Now, the Trump administration claims they may have to modify the rule based on a ruling from a federal judge in Texas. More from Robert Pear at The New York Times.

“No health care provider should be able to turn someone away because of their gender identity. [Trump’s] plans to eliminate the regulations spelling out these crucial non discrimination protections is unconscionable.” — David Stacy, @HRC Gov. Affairs Dir. t.co/gizUsjZ3f8
