The anti-LGBTQ founder of the fringe group Media Resource Center will be at the White House today to take part of Trump’s meeting on the video game industry.

NEW YORK – GLAAD, the world’s largest LGBTQ media advocacy organization, today released background on Brent Bozell, the founder and president of the fringe right-wing group Media Resource Center, in response to the news he will be participating in President Trump’s meeting on video games, which is largely being seen as an effort to scapegoat gun violence onto the video game industry while Trump maintains close private ties with the NRA.

Bozell has an alarmingly extensive of objecting to any depiction of LGBTQ people in the media, falsely insisting that transgender people do not exist and leading an organization that frequently accuses media outlets of being too sympatric children facing anti-LGBTQ bullying.

“If anyone actually believes that this meeting is truly about combating school violence, look towards the Media Research Center’s record of targeting young victims of anti-LGBTQ bullying and ask why the head of this hateful organization was invited to attend,” said Sarah Kate Ellis, President and CEO of GLAAD. “Bozell is a fringe anti-LGBTQ activist who pushes derogatory lies about transgender people and has fought against LGBTQ media representation at every turn. His toxic agenda has no place in this conversation or any conversation taking place in the White House.”
