Fox News anchor Shepard Smith has been trending on social media all day after confirming in a Huffington Post interview what everyone has already known for years: He’s G-A-Y gay.
Shepard was asked if former Fox Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes ever used homophobic slurs in his presence, to which the 52-year-old anchorman replied: “No, never. He treated me with respect, just respect.”
And just like that, his glass closet was shattered.

Shepard also said that, despite rumors to the contrary, Ailes never tried to prevent him from coming out publicly, and that the two had a warm and loving relationship.
