Trans Models Work The Runway On ‘Strut,’ ‘Transparent’ Returns and More TV This Week

Miley Cyrus on the Voice

Check out our weekly guide to TV this week, and make sure you’re catching the big premieres, crucial episodes and the stuff you won’t admit you watch when no one’s looking.

The new season of The Voice is back to introduce audiences to a new crop of aspiring singers. This year’s coaching panel consists of resident hottie Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Alicia Keys and queer pop star Miley Cyrus. Watch the stars pick their performers with the show’s signature spinning chairs tonight at 8 p.m. on NBC.

You betta werk if you want to share the runway with the models at Slay Model Management, the first exclusively trans modeling agency. Oxygen’s new reality series, Strut, is produced by Whoopi Goldberg, and premieres Tuesday at 9 p.m. Eastern. You may recognize one familiar face, Isis King, from her ground-breaking appearance on America’s Next Top Model.

Ryan Murphy’s sleeker, scarier installment of American Horror Story doesn’t seem to have room for as much camp as previous volumes, but that’s OK. This season of Scream Queens looks to be laying it on thick enough to cover two series. In addition to returning talent like Lea Michele, Jamie Lee Curtis and Emma Roberts, new faces this season include John Stamos, Taylor Lautner and Kirstie Alley. We’re eager to see how the show, which doesn’t reboot each season like AHS, moves location from a university campus to a hospital. Catch the season premiere Tuesday at 9 p.m. Eastern on FOX.

If you’re a Shonda Rhimes devotee, get ready for your stories to return Thursday. We’re the most stoked to see the return of How to Get Away With Murder, especially if it includes more Jack Falahee. Be on the lookout for side-butt Thursday at 10 p.m. Eastern on ABC.

Clear your weekend plans so you can binge watch the third season of Amazon’s tremendously brilliant hit original series Transparent, dropping Friday. As per usual, the Pfefferman clan is in the throes of emotional upheaval, navigating new relationships and seeking understanding, mostly within themselves.
