It’s that time again! Spirit Day is just a couple of months away, so mark your calendars and plan to “go purple” to stand up for LGBT youth!

Observed annually since 2010, GLAAD’s Spirit Day is the world’s leading campaign to end bullying, harassment, and intimidation focused of LGBT youth. Millions of people all over the world wear purple to show their solidarity for LGBT youth in a stand against bullying. The annual campaign garners support from entertainers, public figures, professional sports leagues, colleges and universities, corporations, and everyday people just like you. 

Since its inception, millions of people have supported Spirit Day. Everyone from Britney Spears to Laverne Cox to Caitlyn Jenner and more have joined GLAAD’s annual call to take a stand against bullying! To see a recap of celebrities who participated in Spirit Day 2015, click here.

Not only have celebrities endorsed Spirit Day, but iconic landmarks have turned purple to show their support, too. Together, Times Square, the New York Stock Exchange, and the Empire State Building have helped make New York City purple to end LGBT bullying! 

While the site and supporting materials are still being updated for 2016, you can take the pledge now to take part in Spirit Day 2016. By going purple, you not only show your support, but you also help spread the message that LGBT youth do not stand alone. Join GLAAD and millions of others by pledging to go purple this October 20th.
