Hillary Clinton is dedicated to ending transgender violence, asserting that we must address the crisis: “We need to say, with one voice, that transgender people are valued, they are loved, they are us, they desire to be treated fairly and equally.”

She supports marriage equality. In 2012, Hillary partnered with HRC’s Americans for Marriage Equality campaign, emphasizing her commitment to the issue: “LGBT Americans are our colleagues, our teachers, our soldiers, our friends, our loved ones – and they are full and equal citizens, and deserve the rights of citizenship. That includes marriage.”

Hillary Clinton supports The Equality Act, federal legislation that would finally guarantee explicit, permanent protections for LGBTQ people under our existing civil rights laws. She said passing the Equality Act “will be my highest priority.”
