Messages from Visitors, Queer Britain
Scarlet Sappho posted a photo:
Queer Britain, located at Granary Square in a redeveloped former coal yard next to King’s Cross Station, is the very first LGBT history museum in the UK, and though small for now, I wanted to visit to express my support.
Along one wall, visitors are encouraged to leave messages of support for other LGBTQ+ folks. Messages are often left from international visitors in their own languages, who often come from countries less accepting of LGBTQ+’s than the UK. One message in particular honours Nex Benedict, a Native American and nonbinary high school student from Oklahoma, USA, who had taken their own life after intense bullying and the refusal of school adults to intervene.
