Across the rainbow. May 2021
Simon W. Photography posted a photo:
LGBT+ rainbow ‘zebra’ crossing on Jubilee Ave adjacent to the Trent Building (University of Nottingham).
Another one of Nottingham’s permanent ‘rainbow road’s. The vibrant zebra-crossing-style flag have been painted onto the surface. They include six striking coloured stripes to mirror the Pride flag which was established in 1979.
The colours are red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, blue for harmony and purple for spirit. The same colours used in the Pride flag, with the addition here of black and brown stripes to recognise black and multi-ethnic (BME) communities.
