Eyes like two empty windows with nothing but darkness behind them as she leaned her far too skinny body against the light post to wait. She didn’t say anything, her expression saying more than words could possibly express. She didn’t need the person staring back at her.

They needed her.

They needed the few hours they could buy from her.

She stood in the same spot every day but was never there for more than 20 minutes before her knight and shining wallet showed up to whisk her away to the nearest alley for a few moments of euphoria.

It was a long walk back from euphoria to her light post, her expression nothing like before.

Sunny hoped it was the last one.

But it never was.
