When his mom asked what a “bussy” was, professional cake maker Jon Manganello couldn’t bring himself to tell her the truth. So he made up a convincingly enough lie. But he wasn’t expecting what happened next.

“I told my mom ‘bussy’ meant boy,” Manganello recently tweeted. “She just sent photos of me and my brothers from our trip to Paris.”

Nancy Pelosi called Trump “morbidly obese” on live TV and Twitter is having a field day

During an appearance on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360, Speaker Nancy Pelosi was asked about Donald Trump‘s claim that he’s been taking the malaria drug hydroxychloroquine as a preventative treatment for coronavirus.

“I would rather he not be taking something that has not been approved by the scientists,” Pelosi said. “Especially in his age group and in his, shall we say, weight group. Morbidly obese, they say. So, I think that it’s not a good idea.”

Within minutes, the words “morbidly obese” and #PresidentPlump were trending on Twitter. People had a lot to say about Pelosi’s remarks. Some accused to Speaker of fat shaming the President. Others thought her remarks were fair game give his history of body shaming people, including his own supporters…

Quick fact check: To be considered “morbidly obese,” a person must have a body mass index of over 40. According to his February 2019 annual physical report, Trump stood 6’3 and weighed 243 pounds, putting his BMI at 30.4, which makes him obese, but not morbidly so; however, the accuracy of that report, like so many of Trump’s claims, has been questioned.

Forthcoming Gay Novel ‘Camp’ Optioned for HBO Max for ‘American Beauty’ Producer Dan Jinks; Kit Williamson to Adapt Script

Camp, a new YA novel by L.C. Rosen being published on May 26, has been optioned by HBO Max with American Beauty and Milk‘s Dan Jinks producing a screenplay to be adapted by EastSiders creator Kit Williamson.

The book’s synopsis: “Sixteen-year-old Randy Kapplehoff loves spending the summer at Camp Outland, a camp for queer teens. It’s where he met his best friends. It’s where he takes to the stage in the big musical. And it’s where he fell for Hudson Aaronson-Lim — who’s only into straight-acting guys and barely knows not-at-all-straight-acting Randy even exists.
This year, though, it’s going to be different. Randy has reinvented himself as ‘Del’ — buff, masculine, and on the market. Even if it means giving up show tunes, nail polish, and his unicorn bedsheets, he’s determined to get Hudson to fall for him. But as he and Hudson grow closer, Randy has to ask himself: How much is he willing to change for love? And is it really love anyway, if Hudson doesn’t know who he truly is?”

Said Jinks to Deadline: “I found this book hilariously funny and also quite moving. It’s a gay teenage love story that has nothing to do with coming out. A book, and a movie, like this would have meant the world to me when I was growing up. I’m thrilled that HBO Max jumped on board so enthusiastically.”
