He hooked up with his straight best friend then wasn’t invited to his wedding, now he’s devastated

A gay man who hooked up with his straight best friend says it ended up being one of his biggest regrets in life, so he’s cautioning others from making the same mistake.

In an essay published by Men’s Variety, “Luke” says having sex with his friend “Dillon” in college was “one of the biggest mistakes I have probably ever made.”

“At the time I thought was a good idea because like most gay men, there’s always that one guy you have a crush on that happens to be straight,” he writes.

In hindsight, however, fulfilling that straight guy fantasy did irreparable damage to an otherwise great friendship.

Luke describes Dillon as looking like “Florian Munteanu, minus the tattoos” with “dirty blond hair, deep blue eyes his devilish laugh.” The two met while attending college together in Texas a few years ago.

Both guys were studying business administration. They had several classes together and even lived in the same dorm building. One night, they went to party at a frat house together.

“We had been to them before, usually with his girlfriend and some buddies in tow. But this particular evening it was just Dillon and me,” Luke writes. “His other half had been feeling sick and insisted he go anyway with me to have a good time.”

After drinking all night, they eventually stumbled back to Dillion’s dorm room at around 2 a.m. One thing led to another and pretty soon, they were naked in his bed together.

“It’ll be our secret bud,” Dillon told him. “Nobody has to know.”

The next day, Luke says he noticed a “serious shift in our friendship.”

“Don’t get me wrong, we continued to be friends and hang out. It just wasn’t the same. I don’t know how to describe it except to say that he was more distant and less friendly.”

Eventually, they graduated college and fell out of touch. Today, Dillon is married with kids.

“And no, I wasn’t invited to the wedding,” Luke writes. “My sense is that had I not gotten with him, the two of us could have remained good friends for life.”

“We really did have a lot in common and genuinely liked one another. And he obviously knew that I had feelings for him based on what happened in his dorm that night.”

Looking back, Luke has this piece of advice for others who may find themselves in a similar situation: “Any of you reading this post who might be harboring fantasies about doing your straight best friend … please don’t.”

“Unless there are special circumstances, it will likely change your friendship forever.”

Trump to Visit Mount Rushmore for Independence Day Fireworks Show

President Donald Trump plans to visit Mount Rushmore for a fireworks show on July 3, despite the coronavirus pandemic, according to multiple reports on Twitter.

“We’re getting them at the great monument, we’re getting them, I got fireworks, for 20 years or something it hasn’t been allowed for environmental reasons, you believe that one, it’s all stone. So I’m trying to say where’s the environmental reason? Anyway I got it approved so I’m going to go there on July 3rd, and they’re gonna have the big fireworks,” Trump told podcast host Dan Bongino on Friday, according to CNN.

The Week reports: Earlier this week, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) confirmed the Independence Day celebration would go forward. “We’re excited that this will be happening at Mount Rushmore,” Noem said, as reported by CNN. “We’ve been working on this for quite some time.” Trump had first floated the idea of holding “your first big fireworks display at Mount Rushmore” back in January, although firework shows have been held at the monument in the past only to be discontinued in 2009 over environmental concerns. Trump has waved off such worries by saying “what can burn? It’s stone.” … Trump has been obsessed with the South Dakota monument — which depicts former presidents Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, George Washington, and Thomas Jefferson — for quite some time. “I said, ‘Mr. President, you should come to South Dakota sometime, we have Mount Rushmore,’” Noem recalled in a 2018 interview. “And he goes, ‘Do you know it’s my dream to have my face on Mount Rushmore?’ I started laughing. He wasn’t laughing, so he was totally serious.”

Back in 2017, Trump suggested during a rally that his face will one day be on the monument.

“I’d ask whether or not you think I will someday be on Mount Rushmore, but, no — here’s the problem: If I did it joking, totally joking, having fun, the fake-news media will say, ‘He believes he should be on Mount Rushmore!’ ” Trump said. “So I won’t say it, OK? I won’t say.”

Madonna says she plans to “breathe COVID air” after testing positive for antibodies in bizarre video

Everybody can relax because Madonna says she has the coronavirus antibodies, so everything’s fine now, OK?

In yesterday’s “Quarantine Diary,” shared with her 15 million followers on Instagram, the singer announced that she took a coronavirus antibody test this week and it came back positive, which means she likely already had the coronavirus and didn’t even know it. Now, she plans to go outside and “breathe in the COVID-19 air.”

“Took a test the other day,” she said. “I found out that I have the antibodies, so tomorrow, I’m just going to go for a long drive in a car and roll down the window, and I’m going to breathe in the COVID-19 air. Yep. I hope the sun is shining.”

“Here’s the good news. Tomorrow’s another day and I’m going to wake up and I’m going to feel differently.”

The singer then urged people to #staysafe and #staysane.

It’s not entirely clear what Madonna hopes to accomplish by breathing in as much of the virus as possible, but if she has antibodies, it means she may have immunity to it, though scientists still aren’t 100% sure about this.

The CDC says that just because a person tests positive for COVID-19 antibodies, it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re immune. And, even if they are, nobody knows how long the immunity lasts.

“A positive test result shows you have antibodies that likely resulted from an infection with SARS-CoV-2, or possibly a related coronavirus,” the department says.

“It’s unclear if those antibodies can provide protection against getting infected again. This means that we do not know at this time if antibodies make you immune to the virus.”

Last month, Madonna drew criticism when she posted a video of herself in a milky bathtub waxing poetic about how “terrible” but also “great” the coronavirus is, calling it the “great equalizer” because it doesn’t care how rich or famous a person is.

The video has since been scrubbed from her Instagram page, but not people several people uploaded it to YouTube.
