Man arrested for murder at Orlando’s historic gay hotel, Parliament House

Orlando police have arrested a man in connection with a homicide at the Parliament House Resort, a historic gay hotel and nightclub.

Courtney Lamar Williams, 28, faces a first-degree murder charge for shooting and killing 37-year-old Ricardo Filmore on April 1. That night, local residents and Parliament House guests reported hearing what sounded like gunshots. Police later discovered Filmore shot and bleeding in a hotel room. Medical examiners pronounced him dead at the scene.

Filmore worked as an employee at the Parliament House, Orlando’s historic gay venue which features several gay bars, a dance club, theatre and hotel rooms for guests. The resort has operated since 1975, and seen a variety of performers over the years including Wilson Phillips, Salt and Peppa, and RuPaul. In recent years, the resort has faced financial issues despite its popularity.

Amid Pandemic, One Million Moms Calls for Boycott of Disney Over Gay Dads in ‘DuckTales’: VIDEO

Earlier this month, DuckTales revealed in its third season premiere that one of the show’s major characters, Violet, has two gay dads.

Now, anti-LGBT hate group One Million Moms is calling for a boycott of Disney.

“WARNING! DuckTales is not the same cartoon parents grew up watching,” One Million Moms director Monica Cole wrote in an email to supporters on Friday. “The dads share the same last name and both wear T-shirts with the phrase ‘I’M WITH DAD’ on the front and arrows pointing at each other. There is no denying their romantic relationship. It is extremely apparent that they are a couple.”

Cole went on to note that Frank Angones, co-executive producer and story editor of DuckTales, wrote in a blog post that he regretted not being able to being able to give Violet’s dads a more prominent role — and pledged to work to increase LGBTQ representation in the future.

“It is apparent that this particular producer is not finished with indoctrinating children by exposing them to homosexual relationships through a facade of normalcy,” Cole wrote. “If anyone still has any doubt on where Disney stands on this controversial issue, hopefully this makes it clear that there is an LGBTQ agenda they are forcing on young audiences.”

Daniel Newman says he’s “too lazy to bottom” but he might consider it “if I got married”

Very generally speaking, when it comes to gay sex, men fall into one of four categories: “top,” “bottom,” “vers,” or “side.” Then within those four categories, there can sub-categories, like “total top” (i.e. Andy Cohen) or “total bottom” (i.e. Haaz Sleiman).

And then there’s Walking Dead actor Daniel Newman.

Newman, who came out as bisexual in 2017, recently clarified on Twitter that he’s a top. But he’s not a total top. He would consider bottoming for the right guy. If, that is, the right guy ever comes around.

“I’m a TOP. I’m too lazy to bottom!” Newman announced to his 944K followers. “Lol. Maybe if I got married. But I’m also always super attracted to Tops so I guess whoever is strong enough and can pin down the other wins that night.”

That’s a lot of caveats.

The confusion started shortly after a follower named Disgruntled Jarhead tweeted at Newman at 8:37 a.m. to ask whether he was still up from the night before, or if he had woken up early that morning.

“I’m a Bot,” Newman replied. “We don’t sleep.”

To which, Disgruntled Jarhead replied, “Bot(tom.)”

“Nah,” Newman responded, before elaborating on his answer.

We’re so glad this has been clarified.

We’re also glad to see Newman back to his silly sexy self after checking into the ER for symptoms of COVID-19 last month. He wrote about his experience in a widely-shared op-ed published by the New York Times .

A Georgia superintendent is vowing “serious consequences” after two high school students posted a racist video in which they follow a mock recipe for the n-word that includes “eat watermelon,” “rob people,” and “go to jail.”

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports: The video, initially posted to the social media platform TikTok, appears to show two teenagers using the n-word and making disparaging remarks about black people. It’s unclear when the 50-second video was initially posted, but it has been shared so many times that “Carrollton” was trending on Twitter Friday morning. Filmed in a bathroom, the students — one boy and one girl — mimic a cooking show as they pour cups of water into the sink. “First we have ‘black,’” the girl can be heard saying as the boy grabs one cup and pours it in. “Next we have ‘don’t have a dad.’” Both students were quickly identified by their Carrollton High School classmates, and the video triggered a rebuke from the district’s superintendent.
