Dance instructor slays with his kitchen quarantine fashion displays

A dancer and model who works between New York City and North Carolina has seen one of his social media postings from quarantine go viral.

In it, Conor McKenzie, while confined to home, he shares the fact he’s been tempted to raid the fridge more than usual (something we can probably all relate to!). To brighten his day, he started styling the blanket he’s been wearing in different ways.

The result is a catwalk-inspired video clip, with Conor showing off half a dozen different looks he created from the one piece of material.

“Me going to the fridge 87 times a day,” he captioned the video. “CATEGORY IS: SELF ISOLATION SERVE Y’all, I’m so proud. I made all of these looks using one blanket!”

The video has had over 4million views on Facebook and prompted thousands of comments.

He followed it up on Sunday with “blanket couture PART TWO!”

He adds, “On a serious note though, I’ve had so much fun playing around creating these looks. It’s been a great distraction for me and I’m so happy it’s made so many of you smile during this difficult time. When not playing around with blankets in quarantine, Conor runs a variety of dance and exercise classes, including stretching tutorials – which is probably why he has the most amazingly flexible body.

CNN reports that Trump’s chief of staff Mark Meadows is shaking thing up: “Meadows is currently considering several candidates for the press secretary job, including Trump campaign spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany. The new chief of staff is also considering hiring Alyssa Farah, the current spokeswoman for the Defense Department, for a communications role, among others, two sources with knowledge of the situation told CNN.”

Activist Arrested for Trying to Plant Pride Flag at NYC Coronavirus Tent Hospital Run by Franklin Graham’s Anti-LGBTQ Group: WATCH

Reverend Billy Talen, a longtime activist, was arrested on Sunday after attempting to plant a rainbow flag amid a tent hospital in NYC’s Central Park following reports that volunteers at the hospital are asked to “read and adhere” to a statement of faith that says gay people will burn in Hell. The tent hospital is run by evangelist Franklin Graham’s anti-LGBTQ group Samaritan’s Purse.

“They take advantage of our sorrow,” yelled Talen as he was escorted from the park in a clip posted to social media. “They take advantage of our troubles now, with the coronavirus. They are predators. They’re right-wing apocalyptic Christians. We’ve got to get them out of New York City. I know that our mayor is upset about it. Do what you can to get those white tents out of our town.”

NBC News reports: “Talen, an actor and playwright, has satirized consumerism and right-wing religious beliefs in the character of Reverend Billy for more than 20 years. Talen was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct, according to a police spokesperson, who said he is so far the only person to have been arrested at the field hospital. In an email sent to NBC News, the spokesperson said Talen ‘jumped over the outer perimeter barrier of the Samaritan’s Purse Field Hospital, a prohibited area,’ and was then ‘instructed to leave.’ He refused and ‘proceeded to plant a flag on a pole into the ground.’”

Gothamist reported: “Graham, the son of prominent minister Billy Graham, has specifically sought to recruit Christian medical staff to the Central Park facility. According to the group’s website, all volunteers, including health care workers, should read and adhere to a statement of faith, in which marriage is defined as ‘exclusively the union of one genetic male and one genetic female’ and the unrighteous are sentenced to ‘everlasting punishment in hell.’”
