Rapper Lil Yachty slams homophobes accusing him of being gay for wearing women’s clothing

Rapper Lil Yachty is not here for anyone’s homophobia.

The 22-year-old was hit with a tidal wave of negative criticism after impersonating Oprah Winfrey in his new music video, “Oprah’s Bank Account.”

In the video, which includes cameos from Drake and DaBaby, Yachty appears as a female talk show host named Boprah, complete with a wig, dress, heels, and pearl earrings.

Many people have taken issue with Yachty’s costume in the video, firing off angry tweets, many of which are laced with homophobia and antigay slurs.

This nigga lil yachty is gay. How you dress up as a whole woman for your entire video

— FRESH (@___mjo) March 10, 2020

It’s gay and he has a influence over young minds, he’s subjecting them tho that behavior thus normalizing it… that’s not cool, we get it you’re a little sweet bro

Eventually, Yachty issued a message to anyone who has a problem with his Boprah costume: “Bitch it’s just supposed to be entertaining,” he tweeted. “It ain’t even that deep.”

He went on to imply that people who are uncomfortable with a man dressing in women’s clothing need to rethink how they view masculinity.

Bitch it’s just supposed to be entertaining… it ain’t even that deep, y’all Nigga’s so in denial with y’all masculinity shit like this bother y’all.. relax t.co/Ql2NZCdY1C

— comeback season boat (@lilyachty) March 11, 2020

In 2017, Lil Yachty received backlash when he featured a gay couple kissing on the cover his album Teenage Emotions.

At the time, he responded to critics by saying, “If you have vitiligo or if you’re gay or whatever it is, embrace yourself. Love yourself. Be happy, positive.”

GOP Sen. Rick Scott Self-Quarantines After Contact with Brazilian Official at Mar-a-Lago

Florida GOP Senator Rick Scott is self-quarantining after he had contact with a Brazilian official who later tested positive for coronavirus at Mar-a-Lago last weekend.

President Donald Trump also had contact with Fabio Wajngarten, the press secretary for President Jair Bolsonaro. However, Trump shrugged off any risk earlier Thursday, saying “I’m not concerned.”

NBCMiami.com reports: Florida Sen. Rick Scott said he placed himself in quarantine after he may have been in contact with the communications director for Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who tested positive for the new coronavirus after traveling to South Florida. The communications director, Fábio Wajngarten, had traveled with Bolsonaro on a three-day U.S. trip and attended a meeting with President Donald Trump at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort. A statement from the president’s communications office on Thursday said Wajngarten’s test results have come back positive. Scott said he didn’t believe he interacted with Wajngarten, but was in the same room with him. Scott said the Brazilian Embassy said Wajngarten had no symptoms leading up to or the day of the conference.

Re Brazilian official who tested positive: “Both the President and Vice President had almost no interactions with the individual who tested positive and do not require being tested at this time,” says @PressSec .

HRC to Postpone All Public Events Through the Weekend of April 4

HRC to Postpone All Public Events Through the Weekend of April 4

Today, HRC issued the following statement from its president, Alphonso David:

“We are facing a global health crisis, and the Human Rights Campaign’s number one priority is to look out for the health and safety of our members, supporters, staff, the LGBTQ community and the community at large.

For that reason, we have decided to cancel or postpone all of our public events through the weekend of April 4, including our large-scale fundraising dinners in Nashville on March 14, Los Angeles on March 28 and Houston on April 4.

Our focus remains on the goal of advancing the rights of LGBTQ people around the world and on the  defeat of Donald Trump and Mike Pence in November. We will continue to work toward this goal, and weather this crisis as we have weathered crises before — by uniting as a community.”

Rugby player brushes off sexual assault allegations after grabbing opponents’ crotch on camera

Fun. Proper fun ? x

A post shared by Joe Marler (@joemarler17) on

A crotch-grabbing incident that happened during a Six Nations ruby match between England and Wales may result in English rugby star Joe Marler being suspended.

29-year-old Marler was caught on camera grabbing Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones’ crotch during a heated moment on the field last Saturday.

The incident was widely shared on social media.

— D.N.S. (@DubaiNameShame) March 8, 2020

Some viewed it as as just a light-hearted moment between two friendly competitors…

Seriously, just get a f*cking life already you woke obsessed twats… #JoeMarler pic.twitter.com/EwXp6zRwPh

— Bob Fleming (@BobCough) March 9, 2020

#ENGvWAL snowflakes out in force today. FYI #joemarler is not a criminal and Manu Tuilagi did not deserve a red card

— Paul Winter (@Podgepaul) March 7, 2020

There are now two types of people in the world – those who laughed at this @JoeMarler incident, and those who think he should be arrested.
I’m in the first category.
Those in the second are f*cking exhausting. pic.twitter.com/DEHmkTkQ5a

— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) March 8, 2020

Others saw it as a textbook definition of sexual misconduct…

If a man grabbed another man’s crotch in the workplace, he’d be seen as a scumbag. Similarly if a woman done it to another. But of course because its hilarious English icon Joe Marler, it’s funny. Fucking clowns

— David Mc (@exputex4life) March 9, 2020

Surprising number of rugby fans who are letting us all know that they’d be quite happy to have their dicks grabbed cos it’s just “banter”…. #joemarler #alunwynjones pic.twitter.com/AixtfAsMY8

— Pete Jeffrey (@petejeffrey) March 8, 2020

People reacting to Joe Marler grabbing Alun Wyn Jones by the balls like it’s just a bit of craic are part of the reason why men don’t report sexual assualt. I don’t care what the circumstance, its never OK to grab someone by the genitals. Why is that so hard to understand?

— Rachel O’Neill (@ronronzo) March 7, 2020

Of course, the only person whose opinion really matters is Jones himself, since he’s the one who was grabbed.

When asked about the incident, the 34-year-old father of two didn’t seem very happy about the whole thing, telling a reporter “Hopefully, World Rugby will have a look at it.”

Jones went on to say that a lot of people saw the footage and have been supportive of him, but he expressed doubt over whether Marler would face any consequences.

— BBC Sport Wales (@BBCSportWales) March 7, 2020

For his part, Marler is calling the whole thing “bollocks.” In a since-deleted tweet written in response to the backlash he’s been receiving, he wrote: “Bollocks. Complete bollocks.”

Shortly after writing the tweet, however, Marler deactivated his account.

Officials from Six Nations have determined Marler did, in fact, infringe upon Law 9.27 which prohibits “anything that is against the spirit of good sportsmanship.” The rule includes “grabbing, twisting or squeezing the genitals.”

A disciplinary hearing is scheduled for later today. Marler could face suspension from anywhere between 12 weeks to four years for his behavior.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is self-isolating after his wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, began experiencing flu-like symptoms, and was tested for coronavirus.

CTV reports: According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office, she immediately sought medical advice and is being tested for COVID-19. Both are self-isolating at home awaiting test results.“The doctor’s advice to the Prime Minister is to continue daily activities while self-monitoring, given he is exhibiting no symptoms himself. However, out of an abundance of caution, the Prime Minister is opting to self-isolate and work from home until receiving Sophie’s results,” read the statement. “The Prime Minister will spend the day in briefings, phone calls, and virtual meetings from home, including speaking with other world leaders and joining the special COVID-19 cabinet committee discussion.”

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump shrugged off reports that the press secretary for Brazilian President Jair Bolsanoro tested positive for coronavirus, days after meeting with Trump at Mar-a-Lago.

“Let’s put it this way: I’m not concerned.”

— QuickTake by Bloomberg (@QuickTake) March 12, 2020

McClatchy reports: “I did hear something about that,” Trump told reporters at the White House. “We had dinner together in Florida, at Mar-a-Lago, with the entire delegation. I don’t know if the press aide was there, if he was there, he was there. But we did nothing very unusual.” Trump said he and Bolsonaro “sat next to each other for a period of time, had great conversation. He’s doing a terrific job in Brazil. We’ll find out what happens. I guess they’re being tested right now,” Trump said, adding: “I’m not concerned.” Wajngarten posted on Instagram a picture of him standing close to Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, who is in charge of the coronavirus task-force, in Mar-a-Lago.
