Lawmaker hopes to prevent sham marriages by forcing people to legally state their sexual orientations

A Republican lawmaker from Iowa has just introduced legislation that would force people to formally state their sexual orientations to the government in an effort to protect unsuspecting women from marrying dishonest gay men.

Senate File 2130 proposes that anyone who applies for a marriage license must first specify whether they are gay, straight, bisexual, questioning, or “unsure” about their sexual orientation. (There’s also a space to fill in any identity that falls outside of the five listed options.)

No answer? No marriage license! That’s the law. Or, it will be if State Senator Dennis Guth, the man who he drafted the proposed legislation, has his way.

Guth said he came up with the idea for the law after one of his constituents came to him and said her whose marriage fell apart when her husband turned out to be gay.

“Her spouse falsified his sexual orientation and then later on she was not able to reveal that when she went to court,” Guth said in a video promoting the legislation. “So this is just going to allow people in that specific situation to voice this in court.”

The law states that if anyone gives the “wrong” answer to the question, it could be used against them in potential future divorce proceedings. “Wrong” answers could include being unaware of or not fully awakened to one’s sexual orientation, unsuccessfully praying the gay away, or being afraid to come out.

A person who gives the “wrong”answer would then be held liable for the collapse of the marriage and could lose custody of their children.

Of course, the main issue with SF 2130, aside from being just plain dumb, is that it wrongly assumes sexual identities are fixed, not fluid, and it disregards how social circumstances play into a person’s stated sexual orientation.

But this isn’t Guth’s first harebrained idea.

Two years ago, he promoted the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which aimed to give Iowans the legal right to discriminate against LGBTQ people. He also worked on a Senate bill to repeal marriage equality in Iowa, and he has repeatedly vowed to “restore traditional marriage” over the years.

Bloomberg Offers to Release Three Women from Non-Disclosure Agreements: BREAKING

Under intense pressure from Elizabeth Warren and other Democratic rivals, Michael Bloomberg announced Friday that he is willing to release women who’ve accused him of harassment from non-disclosure agreements.

“I’ve had the company go back over its record and they’ve identified 3 NDAs that we signed over the past 30-plus years with women to address complaints about comments they said I had made,” Bloomberg wrote in a statement. “If any of them want to be released from their NDA so that they can talk about those allegations, they should contact the company and they’ll be given a release. I’ve done a lot of reflecting on this issue over the past few days and I’ve decided that for as long as I’m running the company, we won’t offer confidentiality agreements to resolve claims of sexual harassment or misconduct going forward.

“I recognize that NDAs, particularly when they are used in the context of sexual harassment and sexual assault, promote a culture of silence in the workplace and contribute to a culture of women not feeling safe or supported. It is imperative that when problems occur, workplaces not only address the specific incidents, but the culture and practices that led to those incidents. And then leaders must act.”

During Wednesday’s Democratic debate and at a CNN Town Hall on Thursday, Warren slammed Bloomberg over the non-disclosure agreements. At the town hall, she even presented a proposed contract that Bloomberg could sign to allow the women to tell their stories.

“I’d like to talk about who we’re running against: a billionaire who calls women ‘fat broads’ and ‘horse-faced lesbians.’ And no, I’m not talking about Donald Trump, I’m talking about Mayor Bloomberg,” Warren said during the debate. “Democrats take a huge risk if we just substitute one arrogant billionaire for another.”

“This not just a question of the mayor’s character. This is also a question about electability,” Warren said. “We are not going to beat Donald Trump with a man who has who-knows-how-many nondisclosure agreements and the drip, drip, drip of stories of women saying they have been harassed and discriminated against. That’s not what we do as Democrats.”

Boosie Badazz outraged after being banned from gym for filming transphobic rant in weight room

Rapper Boosie Badazz says he’s been banned from his local gym after making transphobic remarks about NBA legend Dwayne Wade’s daughter.

It all started when Boosie shared a video, filmed during a workout at Planet Fitness, with his 18 million Instagram followers in which he admonished Wade for going “too far” in his support for his own daughter.

“That is a male,” Boosie ranted. “A 12-year-old. At 12 they don’t even know what their next meal gonna be. They don’t have sh*t figured out yet. He might meet a woman, anything, at 16 and fall in love with her but his d*ck be gone.”

He then went on to confuse being trans with being gay, adding, “If he gonna be gay, let him be gay, but don’t address him as a woman.”

Now, Boosie claims that video got him 86ed from the gym where he recorded it.

In a new video, the rapper claims a gay manager, who he refers to as a “lil b*tch,” told him he was no longer welcome at the establishment.

“Manager who was gay refused to let me n planet fitness because of my past actions on social media about gender etc.,” he wrote in the caption.

“Do not go to Planet Fitness,” he says in the video. “They racist. They haters. They just put me out of Planet Fitness ‘cause of what I said about Dwayne Wade’s son.”

“They championing Dwayne Wade’s son, so don’t go to Planet Fitness no more. Nobody goes to Planet Fitness.”

Wade recently sat down with Ellen to talk about how his daughter, Zaya, has known her gender identity since she was three years old, and how he and his wife, actress Gabrielle Union, have made an effort to be supportive.

“Me and my wife Gabrielle Union are proud parents of a child in the LGBTQ+ community,” he said.

The NBA legend then urged other parents of LGBTQ children to listen to their kids, give them the best feedback and support they can, and love them no matter what.

Woman Murdered Shortly After Trying to Blackmail Closeted Gay Men, Outing Them on Facebook: WATCH

A woman who attempted to blackmail two apparently closeted gay men for $5,000 was murdered a short time later in Indianapolis, leading to speculation that they were somehow involved in her death.

Jane Waughfield, 40, recorded a Facebook Live video (below) on Monday after she said she discovered the two men having sex. She said she had gone to one of their homes because she had business with him, adding that she hooked up with him a few years ago.

In the Facebook live video, which is laced with homophobic rhetoric, she said she offered to keep the men’s sexuality secret if they sent her $5,000 through CashApp. She also said she feared for her life.

“They tried to kill me. They chased me out of the house,” she said during the now-deleted livestream. “If I die, let them people know they killed me.”

Waughfield was found dead after a shooting and motor-vehicle crash on Tuesday morning.

According to CBS 4, witnesses said Waughfield’s yellow Camaro was traveling at a high rate of speed before slamming into another vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle discovered her unresponsive inside the Camaro, with a gunshot wound, and police believe the shooting happened shortly before the crash.

“We believe this to be a directed and isolated incident,” a police spokesperson said.

As of Friday, there had been no arrests.
