A new advert from coffee brand Douwe Egberts features an LGBTQ plotline and it’s adorable.

Netherlands-based Douwe Egberts is popular across Europe. The new advert popped up last week on its Belgium YouTube channel.

In the commercial, two young people are shown making out on a living room sofa. One is a young woman and the other is wearing a hoodie, so their identity is not shown. Most viewers would probably assume it’s a young man.

The duo are interrupted by the sound of someone else returning home. They scamper upstairs as the father of the girl walks through the front door. He captures a glimpse of the pair.

After a moment of thought, ‘papa’ texts his daughter three coffee cup emojis – inviting them to join him in the kitchen. It’s only when they come downstairs do viewers see that the kissing couple are both young women, and the father has no problem with this.

The advert handles the father’s reaction to his daughter’s romance in a sweet and sensitive way. Unsurprisingly, it has received praise on social media.

Also, more than one commentator pointed out the young queer couple is not the only thing in the ad’s favor: The dad is pretty handsome, too.

Hillary Clinton on Bernie Sanders: ‘Nobody Likes Him, Nobody Wants to Work With Him, He Got Nothing Done’

Hillary Clinton on Bernie Sanders: ‘Nobody Likes Him, Nobody Wants to Work With Him, He Got Nothing Done’

Hillary Clinton is the subject of a new Hulu docuseries premiering on March 6 which “delves into the many scandals and controversies that have ensnared its 72-year-old subject,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In an interview previewing the documentary, THR asked Clinton if an assertion she makes about Bernie Sanders still holds true: “In the doc, you’re brutally honest on Sanders: ‘He was in Congress for years. He had one senator support him. Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done. He was a career politician. It’s all just baloney and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it.’ That assessment still hold?”

“Yes, it does,” Clinton replied

Added Clinton: “It’s not only him, it’s the culture around him. It’s his leadership team. It’s his prominent supporters. It’s his online Bernie Bros and their relentless attacks on lots of his competitors, particularly the women. And I really hope people are paying attention to that because it should be worrisome that he has permitted this culture — not only permitted, [he] seems to really be very much supporting it. And I don’t think we want to go down that road again where you campaign by insult and attack and maybe you try to get some distance from it, but you either don’t know what your campaign and supporters are doing or you’re just giving them a wink and you want them to go after Kamala [Harris] or after Elizabeth [Warren]. I think that that’s a pattern that people should take into account when they make their decisions.”

HRC PRESIDENT ALPHONSO DAVID RELEASES  RECORD-BREAKING CORPORATE EQUALITY INDEX AT WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM IN DAVOS: At an event hosted by the Partnership for Global LGBTI Equality, David (@AlphonsoDavid) announced that a record 686 of America’s leading companies and law firms are continuing to advance vital and rigorous policies and practices to protect their lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) workers — both at home and abroad, according to the HRC Foundation’s newly-released 2020 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). “From supporting LGBTQ civil rights protections in the U.S. through HRC’s Business Coalition for the Equality Act, to featuring transgender and non-binary people in an ad in Argentina, to advocating for marriage equality in Taiwan — businesses understand their LGBTQ employees and customers deserve to be seen, valued and respected not only at work, but in every aspect of daily life,” said David. TUESDAY TWEET — HRC HONORED LIFE AND LEGACY OF DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. WITH DAY OF SERVICE: “More than half a century ago, our nation was moved by a preacher who stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and shared his dream of a day when his children would be judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character,” said HRC President Alphonso David. “Since the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke those words in 1963, we as a nation have made great progress in our journey toward full equality, but we know that we have much further to go.” More from KUSI and HRC.

As Americans across the country come together for a day of service to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we must recommit ourselves to making his dream of justice and equality a reality for all. #MLKDay pic.twitter.com/jMjvTfTexY
