Atlanta stripper sentenced to life in prison for murdering boyfriend

A man in Atlanta has been sentenced to life in prison for murdering his boyfriend in October 2016.

William Bradley Morgan, 37, was a former dancer at Atlanta strip club Swinging Richards. His lover was Brian Campbell, a senior Comcast executive. The men had been in a relationship for around a year, lived together in an Altlanta condo, but both had wives elsewhere, reports local news station WXIA-TV.

Morgan was separated from his wife in Alabama. Campbell’s wife of 14 years lived in Delaware with the couple’s two children. Campbell’s job required him to stay in Atlanta. The two men met in a local gay venue.

Morgan was addicted to methamphetamines and relied on Campbell, 43 at the time of his death, for money.

According to prosecutors, “Morgan’s drug addiction, his reliance on Campbell, and the overall complications caused by the fact that both men were married and engaged in a secret romance, led Campbell to consider ending the relationship with Morgan.”

Prosecutors say that when Morgan realized Campbell was ending it, he shot him twice in the head.

He then wrapped the body in trash bags and placed it in a closet. He lowered the thermostat as low as possible and lit a scented candle near the closet to minimize any potential odors.

Morgan stole Campbell’s Land Rover Discovery, a couple of his high-end watches, iPhone, wallet and other valuables and fled to Alabama.

Campbell’s body was discovered two days later by police. They tracked Morgan down two weeks later and extradited him to Atlanta.

He admitted stealing from Campbell but denied murder.

Morgan was convicted of murder, felony murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, theft by taking, financial transaction card theft, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. On Monday he was sentenced to life in prison without parole by Fulton Superior Court Judge Shawn Ellen LaGrua.

District Attorney Paul Howard told Project Q Atlanta it was a “horrifying case on so many levels.

“The defendant murdered the victim in cold blood because he was worried about losing his source of financial stability,” he said. “The defendant attempted to hide the body and flee. And even after he was convicted, the defendant showed no remorse for murdering a man who he once cared for, a man who has a family and young children.”

Project Runway host Karlie Kloss appeared on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live! on Thursday night and Cohen asked her about a moment from the fashion competition that went viral last week.

In the Project Runway moment, a contestant defending his design made a dig that referenced her marriage to Ivanka Trump’s brother-in-law Joshua Kushner, the brother of Trump senior adviser Jared Kushner.

Judge Brandon Maxwell said of the contestant’s dress, “I cannot see Karlie wearing it anywhere, honestly.”

And the contestant, Tyler Neasloney, snapped back, “Not even to dinner with the Kushners?”

Neasloney’s remarks went viral and caused many jaws to drop on the show, as Kloss’s relationship with the Trumps has been much-discussed in the media.

Cohen asked Kloss about the remarks and about her political affiliations.

Said Kloss: “I was honored to be one of the first memes of the decade. Honestly, the real tragedy of this whole thing is that no one is talking about how terrible that dress was. That’s why he went home. I would not wear that dress to any dinner.”

Of her relationship with the Trumps, Kloss said, “I’m sure I’m not the only person in this country who does not necessarily agree with their family on politics. I voted as a Democrat in 2016 and I plan to do the same in 2020.”

11 U.S. Troops Were Injured in Iran Missile Strikes Despite Trump’s Claim That ‘All is Well’

Shorly after Iran’s Jan. 8 missile strikes on military bases in Iraq that housed U.S. troops, President Donald Trump tweeted that “all is well.”

“I’m pleased to inform you the American people should be extremely grateful and happy,” Trump said later in a live address to the nation. “No Americans were harmed in last night’s attack by the Iranian regime.”

Eight days later, U.S. officials confirmed that 11 U.S. service members suffered traumatic brain injuries in the strikes, which came in retaliation for Trump’s decision to kill Iranian Gen. Qasem Soleimani.

“While no U.S. service members were killed in the Jan. 8 Iranian attack on Al Asad Air base, several were treated for concussion symptoms from the blast and are still being assessed,” Capt. Bill Urban, spokesman for U.S. Central Command, said in a statement. “As a standard procedure, all personnel in the vicinity of a blast are screened for traumatic brain injury, and if deemed appropriate are transported to a higher level of care.”

Although it is true that concussion symptoms can emerge days later, the Pentagon reportedly declined to disclose or even confirm the injuries until they were reported by the media.

From ABC News: Eleven service members were flown out of Iraq in the last 24 to 36 hours, an official told ABC News. Eight were taken to Landstuhl, Germany, while another three were taken to Camp Arifjan in Kuwait. … Because of HIPPA laws, a U.S. official couldn’t provide many details of the injuries — only saying the service members’ TBI symptoms had worsened enough to warrant evacuation out of Iraq.

More from CNN: Following the attack the Pentagon said that no casualties had resulted from the 16 missiles fired by Iran. The US military defines a casualty as either an injury or fatality involving personnel. Asked about the apparent discrepancy, a Defense official told CNN, “That was the commander’s assessment at the time. Symptoms emerged days after the fact, and they were treated out of an abundance of caution.”

On Friday, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, praised the missile strikes during his first speech at Friday prayers in eight years.

“The day in which the missiles of [Iran’s Revolutionary Guards] rained down upon the American base, that was also the day of the Almighty,” he said.
