10 travel-worthy festivals outside of the U.S. in 2020
Most of us have heard about the world’s biggest Pride festivals, like Sydney Mardi Gras or São Paulo Pride. However, many countries offer smaller or more unique LGBTQ gatherings that are worth visiting.

Trump Picks Michelle Obama’s Birthday to Announce He’s Gutting Her School Lunch Rules and Allowing More Unhealthy Food

Trump Picks Michelle Obama’s Birthday to Announce He’s Gutting Her School Lunch Rules and Allowing More Unhealthy Food

The Trump administration chose Friday — Michelle Obama’s birthday — to announce plans to roll back some of the stricter nutrition guidelines for school lunches that the former First Lady championed.

The Hill reports: The new standards will allow schools more flexibility “because they know their children best,” the Agriculture Department said in a press release. Under the new rules, schools would be allowed to reduce the number of fruits and vegetables required at each meal. The latest change follows a 2019 rollback of restrictions on milk and sodium content in school lunches. Critics said the change will pave the way for greasier, more unhealthy foods such as pizza, french fries and burgers.

I miss @MichelleObama and loathe these vindictive, repugnant, craven, shit-for-brains Republicans that lack the decency to do the right thing and the dignity to recognize it.

Among Trump’s worst crimes is the irreparable damage he’s inflicting on our children and the climate. t.co/yA6XDRHj0O

More from the Center for Science in the Public Interest, which is part of lawsuits against the Trump administration over previous changes to the school lunch standard:

The Trump administration proposal also would limit the variety of vegetables served at lunch and allow schools to reduce the amount of fruit served with some breakfasts. (If past is prologue, lobbyists for the potato industry likely have replacements in mind.) And this is hardly the Trump administration’s first attempt to weaken school nutrition. It earlier rolled back requirements for whole grains and sodium in kids’ meals—moves that are now the subject of two ongoing lawsuits by CSPI and partners and by a group of state attorneys general.

The Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010 has been called one of the most important obesity-prevention policy achievements in recent decades. Yet the Trump administration seems intent on sabotaging it. While there’s plenty of room to strengthen school nutrition further, these proposals instead are basically aiming a flamethrower at it.

Karlie Kloss finally address the elephant in the room about her marriage to Jared Kushner’s brother

Karlie Kloss finally address the elephant in the room about her marriage to Jared Kushner’s brother

Project Runway host Karlie Kloss stopped by Watch What Happens Live! last night where she finally opened up about her uncomfortable connection to the Trump family.

Quick backstory: Kloss is married to Joshua Kushner, who is the brother of Trump senior adviser Jared Kushner, who is married to Ivanka Trump, who, of course, is Donald Trump’s eldest daughter.

Earlier this month, a Project Runway contestant was sent home after making a dig in reference to Kloss’ marriage. When Judge Brandon Maxwell said of the designer Tyler Neasloney’s dress, “I cannot see Karlie wearing it anywhere, honestly,” Neasloney quipped, “Not even to dinner with the Kushners?”

The remark didn’t go over so well with, well, anyone. Neasloney later apologized but he was still sent home, presumably for his bad design. (But, honestly, who actually believes that?)

When Cohen asked Kloss, who has remained pretty tight-lipped about her association with the Trump family since the 2016 election, about Neasloney’s comment, she was completely forthright.

“I was honored to be one of the first memes of the decade,” she joked. “Honestly, the real tragedy of this whole thing is that no one is talking about how terrible that dress was. That’s why he went home. I would not wear that dress to any dinner.”

Riiiight.

As for her relationship with the Trumps, Kloss made a good point: “I’m sure I’m not the only person in this country who does not necessarily agree with their family on politics. I voted as a Democrat in 2016 and I plan to do the same in 2020.”

To which Martha Stewart, who was also a guest last night, replied, approvingly: “I’m glad that you announced that.”

Watch.

BERNIE’S NEW BRO: Trump says impeachment timing meant to hurt Sanders. The president in a pair of tweets sought to exploit potential frustration among Democrats by echoing a theory among some lawmakers that Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was aiding the 2020 candidacy of former Vice President Joe Biden by timing impeachment votes to keep Sanders and other candidates in Washington as the Iowa caucuses approach.

They are rigging the election again against Bernie Sanders, just like last time, only even more obviously. They are bringing him out of so important Iowa in order that, as a Senator, he sit through the Impeachment Hoax Trial. Crazy Nancy thereby gives the strong edge to Sleepy…
