After homophobic outburst, reality star claims “50 percent” of his friends are gay

Jax Taylor is a bartender/cast member on Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules with a penchant for exhibiting homophobic micro-aggressions on Twitter. But he’s not antigay because 50 percent of his friends are homosexual. Or something.

Over the weekend, 40-year-old Taylor got into an online spat with a complete stranger on Twitter.

What started as a thread about Adidas new line of NHL-inspired apparel quickly spiraled into a homophobic tirade with Taylor calling the man “ugly” and “fat” before accusing him of living in his parents’ basement.

“Buddy, again look at your ugly mug, and by the looks of that fat face you [couldn’t] fit into anything [Adidas Hockey] or any athletic apparel for that matter,” Jax raged. “Typical zit faced douche who chips company’s for attention. Go back to your parents basement homie.”

Taylor followed that up with a second tweet accusing the man on being a closeted frat boy who has gay sex with his roommate while wearing boat shoes.

“[You’re] the type of guy who is in frat and claims he loves women, but secretly is bending over his roommate ‘chadd’ while wearing boat shoes. 20 bucks says I hit the nail on the head with this loser.”

The man responded by tweeting screenshots of two different articles, one of which mentioned Taylor and his wife’s antigay pastor and another that mentioned a cheating scandal he was involved in.

“Also, maybe you too should not be the first to cast stones,” he wrote in the caption of his screenshots.

To which, Taylor replied by once again attacking the man’s sexuality, tweeting: “Look at this loser, it’s Friday night homie and [you’re a] straight man looking up ‘Page Six’ looks like I was right.”

After several people accused Taylor of being homophobic, he scrubbed the tweets from his page then insisted he’s not antigay, pointing to the fact that he worked at a gay bar for 15 years and that roughly “50 percent” of his friends are gay.

“I lived in West Hollywood for 15 years, worked at the abbey ( highest grossing bar in the country) (gay bar). I walked in 4 gay pride parades, I had my good friend Lance bass marry us, 50 percent of my friends are gay. But yes, You got me, I am homophobic… people are idiots,” he tweeted.

He sounds just like Karen, who can’t be racist because her best friend is Black.

Neither Bravo nor Taylor’s boss Lisa Vanderpump, who, herself, came under fire this year for cracking transphobic jokes on television, have issued any comment on the homophobic outburst.

He’ll be deployed for the holidays, so his boyfriend just gave him Christmas

There’s no place like homo for the holidays. A Redditor in the r/askgaybros forum recently described how his boyfriend surprised him “in the most amazing way,” and our hearts are growing three sizes!

“I came home after running some errands and he set up the entire Christmas tree — lights and everything,” the guy writes. “I asked him why it was up so early, and he hugged and kissed me, saying it was because he didn’t want me to miss Christmas with him due to my work. I have to deploy/rotate soon and will be gone during the holidays.”

He went on:

“I got really emotional when he said that, because I’ve never had anyone think about me like that. He always does subtle things here and there, expressing his love for me.”

The post gave other Reddit users a sleigh-ful of holiday cheer, to say the least. “If you don’t marry him, I call dibs,” one wrote. “Can I get thirdsies if you don’t?” another replied.

“Cries in single,” one moved user wrote.

“Someone is cutting onions here,” another chimed in. “That’s so f—king cute. I’m so jealous! And happy for you!”

2020. Top Dem candidates widen lead on Trump in new national poll: ‘The ABC News/Washington Post poll released early Tuesday found that former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) lead Trump by 17 percentage points while Sen. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) leads him by 15 points. … Sen. Kamala Harris (Calif.) and South Bend, Ind. Mayor Pete Buttigieg both lead Trump by 11 percentage points in the latest survey. Pollsters noted increases from a 10-point lead for Harris and a 6-point lead for Buttigieg in September.’

COMPASSION. Boy George tweeted about Pete Buttigieg and it got messy.

LEV PARNAS. Giuliani henchman very upset that Trump didn’t know who he was: “An associate of Rudolph W. Giuliani who was involved in a campaign to pressure Ukraine into aiding President Trump’s political prospects has broken ranks, opening a dialogue with congressional impeachment investigators and accusing the president of falsely denying their relationship.” Will comply with Trump impeachment inquiry

SEBASTIAN GORKA. YouTube has banned him over Imagine Dragons: ‘Gorka, a notoriously combative Trump ally, has regularly played Imagine Dragons songs on his radio show, “America First.” That’s put him at odds with the band’s lead singer, Dan Reynolds, who has been calling on Gorka to stop using the band’s songs on his show since August.’

HOLD THE LINE. RNC swamped Democratic congressional offices with more than 11,000 anti-impeachment calls. “The Republican National Committee paid to generate thousands of calls to the congressional offices of nearly three dozen House Democrats in recent weeks, an effort that was aimed at both shaping opinion around the impeachment inquiry and tying up the phone lines of the elected officials, according to two people briefed on the effort.”

THROWING PENNIES. Bernie Sanders accuses Apple of hypocrisy over its plan to inject $2.5 billion to help California’s affordable housing crisis.

IRAN. Here come the nuclear centrifuges: “Iran will start injecting uranium gas into over a thousand centrifuges at a fortified nuclear facility built inside a mountain, the country’s president announced Tuesday in Tehran’s latest step away from its atomic accord with world powers since President Donald Trump withdrew from the deal over a year ago.”

DISRUPTOR. Republicans planning to appoint Jim Jordan to House Oversight Committee: “Jordan is viewed by some Republican colleagues as better equipped than Nunes to be the Republican face of the inquiry because of his experience running investigations on the Oversight Committee. He has also been a fiery supporter of the president since the inquiry began, regularly holding press conferences and appearing on television.”

CRAVINGS. People apparently had a big craving for Chrissie Teigen’s website.

POPEYES. Fatal stabbing over chicken sandwich at Maryland Popeye’s: “According to police, the fight initially began in line when a man cut in front of another man and then the altercation escalated and spilled outside where one of the men was stabbed.”

HEINOUS INTERVIEW OF THE DAY. Donald Trump Jr. on CBS This Morning.

COVER ART OF THE DAY. Harry Styles’ upcoming album Fine Line.

HRC Foundation Launches Leadership Program for Black and Latinx Trans Women and Non-Binary People

HRC Foundation Launches Leadership Program for Black and Latinx Trans Women and Non-Binary People

HRC Foundation over the weekend welcomed the first cohort of Elevate: A Fellowship Advancing Public Health Leadership for Transgender Women of Color. TenBlack and Latinx transgender women and non-binary people  participated in the pilot program that focuses on developing transgender women and non-binary leaders of color in the South to increase their career opportunities and ability to work on improving public health systems.

“Black and Latinx transgender women and non-binary people are often overlooked within the workforce, specifically in public health,” said HRC Foundation’s Director of HIV & Health Equity J. Maurice McCants-Pearsall. “In many ways they are relegated to solely working in community outreach and HIV testing roles. As we seek to give voice to those who have been pushed to the margins, it is important that we develop and expand access to equitable professional development opportunities.”

The first group of leaders to take part in the groundbreaking Elevate fellowship program include Atlantis Narcisse of Houston; Desiree Pittman of Montgomery, Ala.; Donte Oxun of Houston; Jholett Hernandez of Montevallo, Miss.; Laneyana Henderson of Jackson, Miss.; Mahogany Toney of Birmingham, Ala.; Samantha Rose Montemayor-Morales of McAllan, Texas; Jayla Sylvester of Houston; Bee Kelley of Little Rock, Ark.; and Nakia Green of Little Rock, Ark..

During this inaugural year, Elevate will focus on skill-building as well as professional and leadership development, including intensive in-person training and a series of interactive webinars. This past week’s initial gathering — led by Advocates for Better Care Executive Director Atlanta Tori Cooper; Casa Ruby Founder Ruby Corado; Southern Black Policy and Advocacy Network CEO Venton Hill-Jones; and HRC Project One America Director Meghan Kissell —  focused on policy and advocacy; navigating social stigma; organizational leadership; community building and mobilization; public health systems; and self-care.

Elevate is designed to help participants develop skills and access tools to advance their work on improving  health outcomes within the Black and Latinx transgender community in Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi and Texas, all part of HRC’s Project One America program.
