IMPEACHMENT. White House officials refuse to testify: ‘Four White House officials scheduled to appear before the House Oversight, Intelligence and Foreign Affairs committees, are not expected to show up, according to multiple media reports.  Two of the officials — John Eisenberg, the National Security Council’s lawyer, and his deputy, Michael Ellis — fielded concerns from other officials about U.S. policy with Ukraine and are said to have knowledge of Trump’s phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The others include Robert Blair, a senior adviser to Trump’s acting chief of staff, and Brian McCormack, an official at the Office of Management and Budget.’

FEED ME. Jason Momoa mouth-fed an Oreo to a bear.

UKRAINE. Paul Manafort was at the center of conspiracy spread before 2016 election: “Paul Manafort, President Trump’s former campaign chairman, spread a conspiracy theory now at the center of the impeachment investigation — that Ukraine, not Russia, hacked the Democratic National Committee — as early as five months before the 2016 election, according to newly released documents from the special counsel’s investigation.”

DEEP DIVE OF THE DAY. John Oliver looks at voting machines.

HIS PEOPLE. Donald Trump booed at UFC fight.

WHISTLEBLOWER. Trump really wants to out him. ‘Trump (and thus Republicans) have sustained a burning interest in the whistleblower’s identity despite his or her growing irrelevance to the impeachment inquiry. Democrats, initially hellbent on getting the whistleblower’s testimony, now shrug at the prospect, citing the wealth of evidence they’ve gotten from other witnesses who don’t have to worry so much about protecting their identities.’

The Whistleblower gave false information & dealt with corrupt politician Schiff. He must be brought forward to testify. Written answers not acceptable! Where is the 2nd Whistleblower? He disappeared after I released the transcript. Does he even exist? Where is the informant? Con!

GET USED TO IT. Pete Buttigieg says Russia and Saudi Arabia will just have to get used to the idea of a gay president.

A man in Serbia was gay-bashed Friday night because two men thought he was gay. Their evidence? He was carrying a pink dog transporter bag.

The men got into a verbal altercation that turned violent with 39-year-old Ilija Vučević in a pizza restaurant in Belgrade.

Vučević posted to Facebook later to recount what had happened.

“Tonight I was brutally attacked in the center of Belgrade because two hooligans thougth (sic) that pink dog transporter bag is a proof that I’m a homosexual. Three lost teeth, one stitch and several bruises are the epilogue of the attack.”

He went on to say, “Despite not being a homosexual, tonight I am proud to ‘be’ one of them.”

Vučević told Serbian newspaper Blic he’d gone to the restaurant with his wife and two friends. One of his friends went to the pizzeria counter but was unable to carry everything, so Vučević went to help him. The two men accused him of jumping the line. He said that he was with the other man. When the assailants saw his pink bag, they made the assumption he was gay and they were a couple.

They began to verbally harass Vučević and he answered back.

‘That may have been my mistake, that I dared to answer back, and not keep quiet.’

It was only when his wife intervened and showed her wedding ring that the thugs ran off. Police and an ambulance were summoned and arrived quickly.

The posting has received hundreds of comments, with some local LGBTQ people saying this sort of violence is not uncommon in the country and welcoming Vučević’s pride in standing with them.

Police swiftly arrested two 26-year-old men in connection with the attack on Sunday.

Vučević, who is heterosexual, tells Queerty that the men pleaded guilty in a speedy court case and received suspended sentences. He is now consulting with a lawyer about taking potential civil action against them.

Although same-sex sexual activity has been legal in Serbia since 1997, the Eastern European country lags concerning other LGBTQ rights. There is no legal recognition of same-sex relationships and gay couples are not allowed to adopt. Belgrade only began to hold annual Pride marches in 2014 – following years of being refused permission by authorities.

In one sign of progress, however, the country has a gay Prime Minister. Ana Brnabić took office in June 2017. She is the first woman and first gay person to hold the position in Serbia.

However, there remains much prejudice towards LGBTQ people – or even those people simply think are gay.

Richard Spencer Unleashes Racist and Anti-Semitic Tirade in Audio Leaked by Milo Yiannopoulos

Richard Spencer Unleashes Racist and Anti-Semitic Tirade in Audio Leaked by Milo Yiannopoulos

Richard Spencer, who has been at the forefront of the resurgence of the white supremacist movement fomented by Donald Trump and in January 2017 denied being a neo-Nazi after being punched in the face while trolling a protest, unleashed a racist and anti-Semitic tirade in an audio snippet released on Sunday by alt-right homocon troll Milo Yiannopoulos.

Richard Spencer is a fucking Nazi.
Don’t believe it?
Listen to this.

“Little fucking kikes, they get ruled by people like me. Little fucking octaroons. My ancestors enslaved those pieces of fucking shit.” via @Avi_Bueno#mondaymorning @mondaymotivation pic.twitter.com/zGMD8inyyJ

— Holly Figueroa O’Reilly (@AynRandPaulRyan) November 4, 2019

Says Spencer in the clip: “My ancestors f**king enslaved those little pieces of f**king sh*t. They don’t do this to f**king me. We’re going to f**king ritualistically humiliate them. Little fucking kikes. They get ruled by people like me. Little f**king octaroons.”

BoingBoing reports: “Yiannopoulous claims the recording was made in the immediate aftermath of counterprotestor Heather Heyer’s murder at the 2017 Charlottesville ‘Unite the Right’ rally.”

Yiannopoulos released the audio on Telegram because he was reportedly upset that he was banned from Twitter over hate speech and Spencer is still on the platform, according to Angry White Men, a site that tracks white supremacists: “Relegated to Telegram, Milo had been complaining that Spencer, and not he, still had a Twitter account. ‘This is Richard Spencer,’ Yiannopoulos griped in a post containing the leaked audio. ‘Spencer is still on Twitter, as is David Duke. But Gavin [McInnes], Alex [Jones], Laura [Loomer], Roger [Stone] and I are apparently too much.’”

Twitter users pointed out that CNN has invited Spencer on in recent weeks as a legitimate guest commentator.

Polite reminder that Jake Tapper and CNN recently invited Richard Spencer on as a legitimate guest, ignoring the fact he’s a piece of shit Nazi. pic.twitter.com/KWcOWvZQXO

Anita Bryant hangs over Gay Pride Day: 1978

Washington Area Spark posted a photo:

Anita Bryant hangs over Gay Pride Day: 1978

Two women hug at 4th annual Gay Pride Day June 11, 1978 held in the Dupont Circle area on 20th Street.

The event took place against the backdrop of singer and orange juice promoter Anita Bryant’s campaign against the burgeoning gay rights movement.

The festival was a noon until dusk block party that featured food, live bands and dancing in the streets.

It kicked off a week-long celebration that culminated with a Fantasy Ball at the old Pier 9 restaurant on the waterfront.

Festival organizer Jeff Carillon was quoted in the Washington Post, “The only political statement we make is by the number of people who show, our solidarity and our numbers. But it is a political event.

The event was partially to show support for a bill that would prevent the District’s Human Relations Act from coming up for referendum for repeal. That was what happened in Dade County, Fl. When Anita Bryant led a campaign to repeal protections for gay people.

Some in the crowd poked fun at Bryant with T-shirts that read, “A day in the closet is like a day without sunshine”—referring to Bryant’s television orange juice commercials.

Carillon opened the event sarcastically thanking Bryant for all the sunshine and poet Chasen Gavin read a poem dedicated to all the people in St. Paul, Mn. and Wichita, Kan. who were engaged in referenda similar to Bryant’s entitled “Straight to Hell.”
Mayoral candidates Marion Barry and Sterling Tucker came by with Barry quoted as saying, “I’m not here solely because I’m running for office. I was here last year and the year before.”

Thousands of people had demonstrated in earlier in the year in January against a Bryant appearance at the Washington Hilton.
