Brandon T. Jackson says God forgives him for playing gay character and wearing women’s clothing
Esteemed Hollywood actor Brandon T. Jackson says almighty God has forgiven him for playing a gay character in Ben Stiller’s 2008 cinematic masterpiece Tropic Thunder.
35-year-old Jackson, whose other film credits include Izzy Gets the F*ck Across Town and the upcoming Big Momma’s House 4, played Alpa Chino, a closeted actor who accidentally revealed feelings a man named Lance, in the 2008 basic bro movie.
Since 2008, however, Jackson has undergone a religious transformation and become a devout Black Hebrew Israelite, and playing a gay character goes against his new ultra conservative religious beliefs.
“I was on thin ice then with the father,” Jackson tells TMZ. “But he had his mercy and his grace was there.”
TMZ adds:
Jackson says the bigger issue is when he wore a women’s dress for his role in the 2011 Martin Lawrence flick, “Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son.” Jackson says he broke a religious law prohibiting men from wearing women’s clothing — “And, when you break a law you get punished.”
So he changed course. And now that everything’s good with the man upstairs, “My life is great, 4 kids. Loving life. So, all praise to the father.”
Gay Adult Performer Wesley Woods Announces Retirement
Wesley Woods, the gay adult performer who made headlines in 2017 when he came after fellow performer Colby Keller for his support of Donald Trump and in 2018 when he was the victim of an anti-gay hate crime in West Hollywood, has announced his retirement.
Woods told AVN: “I can’t get out fast enough. My asshole hairs are burning. I love the industry; I love everyone in it. But definitely the past year, I have treated it much more like work. I show up when I need to and I live my life. I realized I had to start protecting my energy and myself—and sometimes that means backing away. When you’re constantly surrounded on social media by dicks, assholes and bodies it can become toxic, and you have to know when to put your phone down and walk away.”
Woods told Askmen that the anti-gay assault ultimately led him to the decision: “After my assault in August 2018, I felt completely isolated from the world. It’s hard to explain, but I’ll never forget that feeling. The assault stirred up so many emotions and I began to back away from friends, withdrew from family and slowed down on social media. Initially, I didn’t handle the situation very well. I threw myself into work, constantly traveling and drinking. I didn’t feel like myself, and in some ways I took on the emotional energy that it was my fault that this happened, and that I deserved it. It became harder and harder to wake up happy, which was something that once seemed so inherently natural to me.”
“I spoke with a few therapists and after months of intensive work on myself emotionally and mentally, I finally began to allow myself to focus on me what makes me happy, what I want to do, where I want to go and who I want to be,” he added. “My isolation made me seek out a different approach to what I’m doing, a deeper listening to who I want to be, where I want things to go. I want to do more standup, I’d love to somehow help queer homeless youth and I want to be a source of light, love, and inclusivity in our community. I’ve given so much time and energy to the adult film industry, and I want to focus my time and energy elsewhere. This isn’t to say that you can’t do and be it all, I’m just being called to something else. I can feel it.”

GLAAD calls on media to keep spotlight on most vulnerable immigrants, including transgender asylum seekers
According to news reports in CNN and BuzzFeed, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency within the Trump Administration may have deleted critical surveillance video that would have helped tell the story of the last few days of Roxsána Hernández, a transgender Honduran woman and asylum seeker who died in ICE custody. Roxsána’s attorneys argue that various transfers to different facilities without providing HIV treatment or taking note of her deterioration contributed to her death. Video footage was a vital key that would have helped with the investigation.
“Her need for medical attention was obvious, it was documented, and it was life threatening, and the records we have to date indicate that ICE officials knew those three things and decided to transfer her,” said Andrew Free, an attorney representing the family, to BuzzFeed News. “If DHS cannot be trusted to play by the rules, both before and after a detained migrant’s death based on these records, how can DHS be trusted to continue imprisoning migrants at all?”
“The LGBTQ community and other communities demand transparency from government entities that are funded by our tax dollars. We should never punish immigrants seeking safety, including LGBTQ asylum seekers, by housing them in unsafe conditions or keeping critical medical treatment from them,” said Monica Trasandes, Director of Spanish Language and Latinx media Representation for GLAAD. “The media is necessary to bring awareness and accountability when it is lacking from the government.”
This story offers a vivid and heartbreaking account of what Roxsána and other transgender women like her face while fleeing to the United States and away from unsafe living conditions. LGBTQ activists like GLAAD have argued that far too many already vulnerable people are being unnecessarily placed in dangerous situations as they wait for their hearings.

16 gay activists arrested in Uganda and forced to undergo anal examinations
Ugandan authorities confirmed yesterday the arrest of 16 LGBTQ people by police in Kampala on Monday.
Gay sex is illegal in Uganda and those found guilty face life in jail.
Although there is widespread persecution of LGBTQ minorities in Uganda, local activists say it has increased in recent weeks.
They say the atmosphere has worsened since reports emerged Uganda may be again considering legislation to introduce the death penalty for same-sex sexual activity.
Following swift international condemnation, the government has denied it is looking to change the law – despite it being one of its own ministers who initially mooted the legislation returning.
Related: Uganda wants to start killing the gays. Again.
According to Thomson Reuters Foundation, the individuals were arrested Monday at a shelter of a sexual health charity, Let’s Walk Uganda, where they resided or worked. They are all thought to be aged 22-35.
Reports say a crowd had gathered outside the building and was chanting anti-gay slogans. Those inside the building called the police to rescue them. Instead, they were arrested.
Police say that they found condoms, lubricant, and anti-retroviral drugs at the site.
The individuals concerned were taken into custody and all underwent anal examinations.
“Based on the medical examination report, it was established that the suspects were involved in sexual acts punishable under the penal code,” Kampala Police spokesman Patrick Onyango said.
All 16 have now been released on police bond. However, it is expected that they will be recalled to attend court at a later date.
A police spokesperson told Thomson Reuters Foundation: “They will keep reporting to the police on selected dates pending further guidance from the state attorney’s office.”
Amnesty International is just one of the organizations to denounce the use of forced anal examinations to determine sexual activity, previously labeling such practices “abhorrent” and tantamount to “torture.”
