Actress Brie Larson was stunned when a fan proposed to his boyfriend at a photo session with her at a comic con event on the weekend.

The incident took place Saturday at ACE Comic Con Midwest in Chicago. It was Larson’s first time at the event.

The actress is known for playing Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers), appearing in her own stand-alone movie earlier this year and joining the cast of Avengers: Endgame.

Larson was taking part in a meet-and-greet photo session with a gay couple. That’s when John Chambrone got down on one knee and offered a ring to his boyfriend, Richard Owen.

The two men met earlier this year and went to see Captain Marvel on their first proper date with one another.

The proposal was caught in a series of photos shared to Twitter. The final image is of the two men embracing passionately.

“BRIE’S REACTION TO THIS PROPOSAL IS THE MOST WHOLESOME THING,” said Twitter user @tearsofgreys.

Larson then retweeted the photos, saying: “Y’all I was present for a proposal and I am CHANGED. Much love to the happy couple!!!!”

At the time of writing, Larson’s tweet has had almost half a million likes.

The man who got down on one knee, John Chambrone, took to Instagram to share the images, also. He revealed that Larson hadn’t only stood by and looked shocked – she’d helped him put the ring on his boyfriend’s finger.

“Here are the engagement photos from this weekend with my husband to be Richard Owen and myself…with special guest Brie Larson! It was an amazing proposal and he said yes! Brie actually helped me put the ring on his finger!”

Queerty has contacted Chambrone for further comment.

Hunter Biden Likens Donald Trump Jr. to Prince Humperdinck from ‘The Princess Bride’ in Wide-Ranging Interview: WATCH

Hunter Biden Likens Donald Trump Jr. to Prince Humperdinck from ‘The Princess Bride’ in Wide-Ranging Interview: WATCH

Hunter Biden spoke to ABC News about his professional life and the lies about him and his father being lobbed by Donald Trump and his family as the president faces an impeachment inquiry over a phone call in which he pressured Ukraine’s leader to investigate the Bidens. Trump’s continuing claims about the Bidens have been widely debunked.

Biden, in a defense of his involvement in foreign businesses, said that though he was as qualified as anyone on the board of a Ukrainian natural gas company to serve, it was likely his last name that got him in the door.

ABC News reports: ‘Hunter Biden told ABC News he does not specifically regret those business ventures, but wishes he had anticipated future attacks from his father’s political rivals. “What I regret is not taking into account that there would be a Rudy Giuliani and a president of the United States that would be listening to this — this ridiculous conspiracy idea.”‘

Hunter Biden pledged to end all of his work with foreign entities if his father wins the White House in 2020.

Biden had a lot to say, but saved some of the most pointed remarks for Trump’s sons Eric and Donald Jr., who have also been attacking him on social media and at rallies: “They’re out of a B movie. I mean, they really are. I’ve been through some sh– stuff in my life. I’ve been through some real, real stuff. This isn’t real stuff. It isn’t. It truly isn’t. That part of it, that Barnum and Bailey — you know, say anything, do anything you want, you know, I mean, like, you know, Donald Prince Humperdinck– Trump Jr. is not somebody that I really care about.”

“It’s really hard for me to say anything — snarky right now or combative because I was raised to respect that office,” Biden added. “it’s making me emotional. I don’t — I don’t know. I hope that — that the history isn’t fully written yet. I hope that– that a lot of people that — that have a chance at redemption here stand up for what is right”

Advocates Raise Awareness for National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day

Advocates Raise Awareness for National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day

To Omar Martinez, National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day is about uplifting the voices of Latinx activists and ensuring that Latinx people living with HIV and AIDS receive the best care possible moving forward while remembering Latinx people who died of HIV and AIDS.

“The way to move forward is to really tackle and address the structural issues,” Martinez, an assistant professor at Temple University’s School of Social Work, told HRC. “[This] includes discrimination, the anti-immigration rhetoric, structural racism, cultural imperalism and access and barriers to health care… I would argue that these are the major challenges.”

October 15 marks National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day — a day to raise awareness about how HIV and AIDS impact the Latinx community, educate the public on preventative measures and more. NLAAD’s theme this year is “living with HIV or not… we’re fighting this together,” focusing on ending the stigma around the disease and helping to address HIV in the Latinx community.

This is immensely important because HIV stigma remains one of the biggest challenges for advocates who are fighting to end it.

As Martinez notes, there’s an intersectional societal stigma that impacts Latinx people living with HIV. Racism, discrimination, criminalization of HIV transmission in several states and the lack of access to care — especially for undocumented people — are all issues Latinx activists are working to address.

“We, as a community, must continue fighting these larger structures,” Martinez said.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in the Latinx community, HIV and AIDS predominantly affects men who are gay, bisexual or who have sex with other men. Between 2011 to 2015, HIV diagnoses increased 13% among Latinx gay and bisexual men.

Society still has a long way to go. Martinez hopes Latinx people living with HIV know that things are improving with research and social justice activism.

“We are all in this together,” he said.

HRC is committed to working with our allies, partners, members and supporters to end the HIV and AIDS epidemic and the stigma surrounding HIV and AIDS. Learn more about HRC’s work to end HIV and AIDS and its stigma here.

David Cowan demonstrates his skills at Atlanta Pride (Photo: YouTube)

Footage of an ASL translator from Atlanta Pride on Sunday has gone viral – helped in no small part by being shared by deaf, gay celebrity, Nyle DiMarco.

DiMarco shared the footage on his Twitter feed yesterday.

The interpreter, whose name is David Cowan, can be seen throwing himself into his job and joyously translating the lyrics with plenty of dancing and emoting to emphasize the meaning of the words.

The post has prompted over 60,000 likes, and Cowan himself was quick to respond, thanking DiMarco for sharing.

“Thank you, @NyleDiMarco for posting this… That crazy guy is me! It was located at Atlanta Pride event. There were several different songs at the event. I believe this particular song in that video is “Get Me Bodied” by Beyonce.”

Some people had said it was infuriating that DiMarco posted the clip without music… comments that prompted a swift response from others to remind them that that’s the reality of being deaf and highlighting the importance of interpreters!

Most people just had nothing but love for Cowan, who is himself profoundly deaf.

“This was so wonderful, it literally made my day,” commented @HulkMeow. “I love the passion you have for your job and how fun and accessible you’re making that for people that weren’t blessed with something we take for granted every day. Thank you!!”

“Sir, you are a delight,” said @thermogoddammit. “You definitely are giving off Beyoncé vibes. Even more impressive with your beard.”

Cowan is already well known among Atlanta’s deaf community and is a respected interpreter in the area. He interprets each year at Atlanta Pride (where he’s been a Grand Marshal) and at local drag shows, as well as for Government conferences.

Video, with music, has also been posted to YouTube. Watch below.
