Get Bent

I got paranoia, baby
And it’s so hysterical
Crackin’ up under the pressure
Looking for a miracle
Huh-uh, come on, honey
Lyin’ in a bed of blood and money
Huh-uh, what’s so funny?

An alternate shot showing off the Going Mad strait jacket set from After Midnight Fashion. First featured here. I liked both so why not share both!

At least I waited a little bit between them, right? Right! I mean, it was this or another unrelated shot I was thinking about uploading today. And THAT one would have been something worthy of the name “Wang-Out Wednesday”… Maybe I’ll do that next week. Thoughts on that, anyone? XD

The kiki just doesn’t stop at RuPaul‘s DragCon NYC. Queerty’s John Russell and photographer Ames Beckerman were on hand at Manhattan’s Javitz Center to capture all the looks and spill some serious tea.

Acid Betty

My booth is always the best. Size doesn’t matter unless it comes to my booth, and it is the largest. It’s the only one that goes beyond 10 feet in the air. I’m eight feet tall so I need it to be at least 10 feet.

Axel Andrews

I’m with Drag Queen Divas. They’re a big online registry for drag queens, so people in different areas can book them. Like if you have a bachelorette party, or something that’s a little bit less traditional. You can look up local performers or fly them in. It gives people who aren’t involved in the gay community access.

Nina West

I’m recording a Christmas EP and I’m gonna be doing a Christmas tour. I love the holidays. It’s very up my alley, spreading joy and kindness!

Pink Oracle

We run a company called PinkOracle.com, and what we’re trying to do is make sure there is disabled access at all drag venues across the country. We launched after coming to the first DragCon and seeing there were a bunch of accessibility issues. The following year World of Wonder invited us to help them make the event more accessible. Each year they’ve expanded the aisles. They’ve added ADA access lines and wrist badges that disabled people can get that allow them to get to the people that they want autographs from easier. There are also rest areas and assistance people all over the facility. And there’s also a code of conduct for all the queens for interacting with disabled people.

Rev Grigolidz

This is my first DragCon. It’s an amazing event. It brings love, creativity, vibrancy, and it’s such a great time. Every single drag queen, they just look so good: Kameron Michaels, Blair Sinclair, everybody just looks so good.

Sophiella DiVinci and Charles

Glamda the Fabulous

This is inspired by Manila’s Big Bird look, so it’s very meta but still very on point with who Glamda is.

Phoebe Nixxx, Sabrina Laurence and Crimsyn

Jessica L’Whor

This is my Marie Antoinette look. It’s big, it’s glamorous, it’s a time period piece. It was made by Eddie Couture in Chicago.

Pete Buttigieg got quite the surprise on his flight to Houston

Pete Buttigieg got quite the surprise on his flight to Houston

Being seated next to (or in this case, behind) someone you know on a flight can certainly go both ways — it’s either a happy bit of serendipity or a curse; a terrible curse.

For Democratic Presidential rivals Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar, it turned out to be more of the former — though still a little awkward we’d imagine. Both candidates appeared to have a good laugh at the seating arrangement.

Buttigieg and Klobuchar were traveling on a United Airlines flight to Houston, the host city of Thursday’s Democratic debate.

Buttigieg tweeted a photo, writing, “Very funny, @united”.

Klobuchar retweeted the image, adding, “And the debate begins.. Good sitting by you @PeteButtigieg”.

United couldn’t help but chime in, commenting, “Hey Pete, we thought you two might want to talk debate strategies before the big night Thursday. ^RY”.

Gay New Orleans Radio Host Seth Dunlap Called a ‘Fag’ by His Station’s Twitter Account

Gay New Orleans Radio Host Seth Dunlap Called a ‘Fag’ by His Station’s Twitter Account

Seth Dunlap, host of “The Last Lap” on the New Orleans Saints’ radio network WWL Radio, published an open letter to Drew Brees on Facebook last week in which he shared his perspective as a gay man and expressed disappointment with Brees’s involvement with the anti-LGBTQ group Focus on the Family.

On Tuesday, five days after the open letter was published, his radio station’s own Twitter account called Dunlap a “fag”. The tweet containing the slur was deleted, but not before it had been captured and shared across social media.

My wife used to tell me not to go on this radio station because she always felt undertones in their political coverage. Looks like she was right. @WWLAMFM pic.twitter.com/x8AalJCwu9

— Nick Underhill (@nick_underhill) September 10, 2019

Not referencing the slur directly, Dunlap tweeted this: “I’m just going to really enjoy knowing somebody is exceptionally upset I get to talk sports every night for a living.”

All of the comments and responses tonight mean a lot. Thank you for the kind words, funny memes, and amazingly awful pun attempts.

— Seth Dunlap (@sethdunlap) September 11, 2019

Deadspin reports: “Dunlap… has otherwise not commented on it specifically, including during his radio show Tuesday night, according to a report from the Big Easy Magazine. The offending tweet was quickly deleted by someone at WWL-AM, but not before it was captured in screenshots and shared around.”

WWL Radio later tweeted this: “We are aware of a tweet that went out today from the WWL account. The content of the tweet is categorically offensive and abhorrent to the station. We are actively investigating this incident and will take swift and appropriate action once we determine how this occurred.”

That has been the station’s only comment.

Dunlap announced on Twitter Wednesday afternoon that he would be taking the night off: “Being yourself has never been more important. The hate that has infected our society threatens to tear us apart from the inside out. I’m overwhelmed, but I’m also very proud of who I am and the life I live. I’ll be taking tonight off from the show to reflect and decompress.”
