Slip (Alternate Angle to 'Catch')

This is barely edited. I hid some ugly blank puke colored sky with a slapped in starscape and that’s about it.

The actual end-product (viewable here) had a lot of angle options, this one among them.

Obviously, some angles for this very dynamic scene offered more hopefulness than others. This one, not so much. So. I pulled the avatars a few inches further apart, making it so their fingertips would be barely grazing, and changed the facial expressions. And just like that, instead of capturing the verge of salvation or failure as in the finished shot, where there’s tension and unspoken hope/worry (which arguably makes for a much better moment caught in time), the implied outcome in this alternate version is very different and far more concrete.

Ta da.

Protest of Equinox/SoulCycle Owner and Trump Fundraiser Stephen Ross to Target West Hollywood Gym

Protest of Equinox/SoulCycle Owner and Trump Fundraiser Stephen Ross to Target West Hollywood Gym

Stephen Ross

A demonstration has been planned outside the West Hollywood Equinox gym on Friday protesting owner Stephen Ross who is hosting a Trump fundraiser in the Hamptons on the same day. The protest was announced on Facebook.

Calls to ‘boycott Equinox’ rang out across social media on Wednesday after news broke that Ross, who also owns the fitness companies SoulCycle, Blink Fitness and PURE Yoga as well as a long list of other properties including the Miami Dolphins, is hosting a $250,000 Trump fundraiser in the Hamptons on Friday.

The Washington Post reports: “Money raised at these fundraisers will go toward Trump Victory, a fundraising committee for both the Trump 2020 campaign and the Republican National Committee.”

Said protest organizer Gonzalo Garcia to Wehoville: “We’re tired of people taking our money and using it to elect racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, trans-phobic, homophobic people into office. If people in our community boycott Chik-fil-A for their work against the LBGT community then we better do the same towards Equinox and Soul Cycle.  We cannot sit around and let this continue to happen. It’s the future of our country, our people, our immigrants and our children.”

This homophobe’s nasty note to a hair salon cost him $300 and landed him a misdemeanor charge

This homophobe’s nasty note to a hair salon cost him $300 and landed him a misdemeanor charge

James Willougby Wood

Police in Homewood, Alabama have just arrested a man in connection with a threatening note left at a downtown hair salon earlier this summer.

83-year-old James Willougby Wood is facing one misdemeanor charge of harassing communication after he allegedly taped a note on the backdoor of Salon U that read:

This is not San Francisco or or downtown Birmingham. This is Homewood which is a religious and family city. We suggest that you remove that flag before it’s too late. We are concerned citizens. Goodbye.

The note was in response to a rainbow flag the salon had displayed out front during Pride month. It was discovered by an employee as he was leaving work, who alerted the salon’s owner Issam Bajalia.

Bajalia called the letter “a little bit alarming,” particularly the part about removing the flag “before it’s too late.” So he called police and the Hate Crime Division of the FBI.

“It’s 2019,” Bajalia says. “There’s no room for this anymore.”

Detectives tracked Wood down by reviewing surveillance video and then picking him out of a photo lineup.

According to WBRC-TV, he turned himself in yesterday. Bond has been set at $300.
